     John Frew and eldest daughter, Miss Bella will be going on a trip to Glasgow, Scotland, to visit Mr. Frew’s old home.

     The interest in the Good Road Movement resulted in there being organized "The Chase County Good Road Association." Elected as President, was H. F. Gillett, Henry ImMasche, vice-president, and Dr. C. L. Conaway, Secretary-Treasurer.

     Jul. 15 - L. R. Holmes and Son closed a deal for the sale of their new cement store building to Gregory Bros. Mr. Holmes will move back to his former store.

     Twelve hot air balloons will be released at the Chautauqua grounds in Cottonwood Falls with tickets attached. See if you can find one.

     Jul. 19 - Miss Gussie Houston, Chase County's Republican candidate for Clerk of the District Court is making her campaign on horseback, not by automobile, and is winning votes wherever she goes.

     Jul. 23 - Names of a few teachers employed for this term. Clements: Grace Campbell, and Alda Crawford; Blackshere: Miss Hallie Park; Neva: Ellen Stubenhofer; Mars Hill: Grace Fent; Rock Creek: Clint Baldwin; Prairie Hill: Belle Riley; Marble Hill: Bessie Eastman; and Forest Hill: Ida Way.

     Jul. 26 - Clifford Bocook buys John Clarkson's laundry business.

     Glenn S. Fisher of Cedar Point and Catherine M. Mitchell of Bazaar, were married by Probate Judge McCarty.

     A son was born to Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Jacob of Elmdale. Henry Giese completed a new "Giese" road drag for Falls township. R. B. Harris, known as "Boon" is running for Register of Deeds on the Democratic ticket.

     Aug. 2 - Chase County's Chautauqua has been a great success in every way except from the financial stand point.

     Aug. 9 - The first airship ever built in Cottonwood Falls was completed last week, and a trial flight was made by its owners, Paul Canter and Mark Wolcott.

     Ed Hudson resigned as marshal.

     Aug. 12 - Nearly all of the county schools will open on Sept. 12.

     W. C. Austin wins State Printer nomination by 263 plurality.
