     Aug. 16 - The three alfalfa mills located in Chase County are now running at full capacity.

     Aug. 19 - W. R. Jackson & Anna Harlan both of Matfield Green are married by Probate Judge Wells.

     Roy Wiley of the Wiley Stock Farm of Middle creek, just returned from England and Europe where he spent the summer in buying horses for the stock farm.

     A Smith Brothers add has 1 quart jar of sour pickles for 20 cents, 7 bars of Diamond C. soap, 25 cents and 1 large can of baked beans 10 cents.

     John McLinden turned lose his pet coyote and in about two minutes time, young McLinden's neighbor, Arthur Ice, was short sixteen "pet chickens."

     Aug. 26 - The total inventory amount on the Capt. Henry Brandley estate was $106,276.68.

     Coal will very likely be very scarce this winter on account of the strike.

     Aug. 30 - Saffordville soon to have a brick plant.

     Sept. 2 - Matti Bros. have completed the new house and barns on their Bloody creek farm which was destroyed by the "May Day" storm last spring.

     Ernest Carpenter and Rose M. Laloge both of Cedar Point were married at the court house.

     Sept. 9 - A son is born to Mr. & Mrs. Mollohan of the Homestead community.

     Cora F. Goad and Guy H. Park were married. Mr. & Mrs Park are well known young people of Clements and vicinity.

     Geo. Rand, Chas. Shaft, and the Overstreet Boys are putting in the concrete walk and foundation for the new Overstreet store building.

     Sept. 13 – Mrs. Gillett, the wife of H. F. Gillett, president of the Exchange National Bank of this city died at her home. Heart failure was the cause of death.

     A miscellaneous shower was given for Frankie Baldwin who is to be married to Hugh Campbell.

     Sept. 16 - L. R. Wiley & Son of Middle creek take premiums at the State Fair in Topeka.

     Sept. 23 - One of the largest celebrations that has ever taken place in Cedar Point was held by the Cedar Point Anti Horse Thief Assoc. The picnic was held at the Pinkston Bros. grove, just outside town and lasted all day.

     Dave Cartter went to Oklahoma with his three race horses where he will attend a number of fair.
