     May 30, 1912 - Opal McCabe and Victor Kirk are married. They will make their home on the Kirk ranch in Bazaar Township.

     Jun. 6 - The new Methodist church at Strong City will be dedicated on June 16th.

     Jess Starkey has invested in a Humpmobile and is showing his friends a good time.

     Mr. & Mrs. Alonzo Spain have moved to the Wonsevu neighborhood.

     Jun. 20 - Oscar Duehn gave the city of Clements permission to use the grove just across the river at the end of main street as long as the timber was not damaged. A park will be started with a cable bridge across the river.

     Jun. 27 Bert Bandy and Olive Harlan of Matfield Green are wed.

     Sheet music 10 cents per copy at King's.

     Jul. 4 - The committee on paving at the council meeting reported very favorably on the matter of paving Broadway with bricks.

     M. K. Harman who opened a first class picture show earlier has closed a deal with two Emporia men for the renting of the new picture show "The Odeon."

     Jul. 11 - Jason C. Petford of near Saffordville and Daniel W. Eastman of Thurman have passed away. Dan ran a general store and was postmaster at Thurman for a number of years.

     Geo. McNee has bought the old Surfluh ranch. This makes Mr. McNee's land holdings in Chase County over five thousand acres in two exceptionally fine ranches.

     Jul. 18 - Fred Austin & Nora Ward was a pleasant surprise to their friends. They were recently married and will be at home in Cottonwood Falls.

     Dudley Doolittle is a Democrat candidate for congress from the fourth district. Mr. Doolittle was born in Chase County 31 years ago. He is now serving his 2nd. term as County Attorney of Chase Co.

     Jul. 25 - Del Evans has bought the steam laundry from S. E. Bailey.

     Aug. 8 - E. D. Replogle died of a bursting blood vessel in the brain. He has been engaged in the drug store business most of his life in Chase county.

     Aug. 15 - Mr. & Mrs. W. C. Stenzel of Middle creek celebrated their golden wedding.

     Aug. 22 - Chautauqua was a success bigger crowds and better program and even made some money.

     A new paper is established at Cedar Point and will be called the Cottonwood Valley News and was launched by Fritz Drinkwater.
