     1913 - 1914


     Dec 16, 1913 - The high school ennrollment is now 184.


     Dec. 23 - Ruth Adams & Roy Lee are wed.


     The following is a list of the Rock creek pupils who were neither absent or tardy this month; Royse Schimpff, Ruth Moore, Neilson, Moore, Gloria Moore, Charlie Fillmore, Bertha Fillmore, Edward Fillmore, & Fay Julian.


     Oct. 30 - Edna Ruth ImMasche & Lee R. Obley both of Saffordville area are married.


     Mr. & Mrs Oliver Burton announce the arrival of a baby boy.


     Nov. 6 - Replogle Drug Store is sold to Mr. A. L. Campbell of Topeka.


     T. G. Allen is appointed postmaster at Hymer. Mr. Allen is also the Principal of the Hymer school.


     Nov. 20 - A pie social will be given at the Elk school house.


     Nov. 27 - Edward P. Gregory, father of Charles, Edward and William Gregory all of whom are engaged in business in Cottonwood Falls, passed away.


     Ethel M. Talkington & G. E. Dawson of Clements are married at the home of the bride.


     Mr. & Mrs Ross Evans are the proud parents of twin girls weighing 6 and one-fourth pound and 4 and three-fourth pounds.


     Dec. 4 - The postoffice at Hymer has been discontinued.


     Howel Hay Jones & Opal Corbet are wed.


     Dec. 25 - Mrs Capt Brandley passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs Ed Wagoner, of heart failure.


     Dr. E. P. Brown, Dentist, has fitted up office rooms over the Leader office and is ready to look after his practice. This is the second time Dr. Brown has settled in Cottonwood Falls.


     Plenty of snow and a white Christmas.


     Jan 8 1914 - W. R. Parks of Clements passed away. The Parks have been running the hotel at Clements for some time.


     The new house on the Berry ranch is near completion.


     Jan. 15 - The Farmers State Bank of Cedar Point closed its door for business due to bad loans. A new bank to be known at the Cedar Point State Bank will replace it.


     Mrs S. J. Evans of Cottonwood Falls has died.


     Jan. 22 - The Alvin Stanbrough's of Buck creek have adopted two orphan children.


     Jan.29 - Mr. & Mrs G. W. Yeager of Rock creek celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.


     Frank Hays has bought an interest in the general store of L. L. Chandler at Bazaar and the firm will be Chandler & Hays in the future.
