     Jun 18, 1914 - Roy Patten & Mae Wiebrecht of Strong City are wed.


     Jun 25 - Business men sign an agreement to be closed on July 4th., Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years.


     Chase County paid an inheritance tax of $447.76 during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1914.


     Jun 30 - Harry Wilcox is the Captain of the Cottonwood Falls High School football team.


     Jul 2 - A new chapter of the Eastern Star was organized at Saffordville with an enrollment of 35 members. The new chapter will be known as Jomari Chapter No. 378.


     Mrs Walter Green of Neva died at her home. Five childred and her husband survive.


     The dog population of Cottonwood Falls has dwindled to almost one-half of what it was a year ago.


     Jul 9 - Cottonwood Falls new postmaster, Lew Waddell, took charge of the post office.


     The Bell Telephone people have just completed a sign made of rock on the H. B. Jackson farm near Clements. With letters nine feet tall, the four words read, "Talk Home - Bell Telephone."


     Hundreds of fish have been killed in the Cottonwood river and streams as a result of the muddy condition of the water, caused by heavy rains.


     Norton Bros. at Bazaar are at work on the large residence they are building. The old house is being remodeled and a considerable portion will be built new. Axel Anderson and son, Karl, are doing the carpenter work.


     Jul 30 - A baby daughter was born to Mr. & Mrs Pherrigo of Bazaar.


     A new law firm composed of T. H. Grisham of Cottonwood Falls and Harry C. O'Riley of Strong City has just been formed here under the name of Grisham & O'Riley. Mr. O'Riley has just been appointed City Clerk of Strong City and will also look after the duties of that office.


     Aug. 6 - The Wm. Mercer's of Homestead have a new baby boy, named Alfred William.


     Aug13 - L. R. Holmes has just closed a deal for the sale of his furniture stock and business to Ernest McKenzie of Junction City. Possession will be taken about the middle of October.


     Sep 3 - Henry Long & Co. of Cottonwood Falls ad reads: Sale - house dresses $1.25 reduced to 79 cents, 25 cent hose to 16 cents.


     Sep 10 - Lela Cox & Clifford Riggs are wed.


     Sep 17- Iota Judd daughter of Sarah Judd was married to Chester Tolley at Sheldon, Ks. The bride was born and raised near Bazaar.


     Sep 24 - Dr. L. C. Olson has just formed a partnership with Dr. Berlin Miller of Cottonwood Falls. The two will be associated together in the dental business.
