     Aug 5 1915 - E. J. Wilcox & Frank Hoel were appointed agents for the Ford Motor Car in this county.

     Wm. Mercer of Clements has secured a large tract of pasture land 1,500 acres in all. The land was owned by W. T. Smith of this city. Cowley Hays Real Estate Company handled the deal.

     Aug 12 - Everybody who made the Chautauqua sociability run last week greatly enjoyed the trip.

     It took a fourteen year old Chase County boy to top the Kansas City live stock market with a 11 month old calf. William Riley, son of J. N Riley, living west of this city. He received $9.25 per hundred and the animal wighed 620 pounds

     Aug 19 - Ephriam Link died at the home of his son east of the city. He was 81 years af age, a farmer and was in the mill business many years while living in the county.

     Aug 26 - The Middle Creek Fair Association will hold two full days on the on the L. R. Wiley ranch.

     Del Evans traded his laundry to H. Kellam for the latter's forty-acre farm on South Fork.

     Aug 26 - Geo. Yeager of California died at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs G. W. Yeager of Rock creek.

     8-31 - Beginning this issue the Leader will be issued twice a week.

     9-3- Diptheria case postpones the schools in Cottonwood Falls to open.

     One of the best crops of prairie hay will be cut in this county, with the abundance of rain here-all through the growing season

     Sep 10 - Barbara Hungerford will teach the Brandley school at Matfield this winter.

     Former County Treasurer R. 0. Minor who has been cashier of the Clements State Bank has resigned.

     Elsie Zickafoose & Oliver Kruger are married at Clements where they will reside.

     Arminda Rich wife of the late Dr. Wm. Rich died at her home in Clements.

     Sep 17 - Arch Miller, the oldest living settler of the South Fork Valley celebrated his eighty-second birthday.

     Sep 24 - The marking of all the rivers and streams of Chase County by the women of this county is almost completed.

     Sep 28 - The Middle Creek Fair enjoyed an attendence estimated between 500 to 600 People on Friday.

     Oct 1 - It seems very probable now that the new State wide Boys Training Camp which is to be established by the State Executive Committee of the YMCA of Kansas will be located at Elmdale.

     Oct 5 - Miss Josephine Mercer died at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs J. H. Mercer of Cottonwood Falls. She was a senior at the Cottonwood Falls High School.

     Mrs S. R. Cowley of Cedar Point passed away.
