     Mar 17 - C. M. Gregory of this city has just purchased the 683-acre ranch formerly owned by E. P. Allen of Elmdale. The sale was made by A. J. Klotz & Co. of this city.


     Mar 24 - Fire at Smith Bros. grocery store of this city, losses caused by smoke and water, but was fully covered by insurance.


     Mar 28 - A meeting of the Middle Creek Fair Assoc. was called by F. 0. Pracht, Sec. to be held at the Union school house on April 15th.


     Edna Doane and Ernest Jackson of Elmdale are wed.


     Mar 31 - Chase County Wealth - A total amount of taxable property is $20,140,700.


     Harry Wilcox has been assisting in the post office this week due to the absence of Roy Mushrush.


     Born to Mr. & Mrs Geo. Dawson, Clements, a daughter.


     Apr 4 - Because the girl of his choice preferred to dance with another beau, 19 year old Elmer Pherigo, of Bazaar, broke up a, "hop" held in this city. He paid a fine and the cost of the case before Justice Sherman Knowland.


     With the death of Mrs Amanda North, of Strong City, removes one of the most widely know women of Chase County. She had married Jacob North in 1864 and to this union six children were born.


     Apr 7 - Mr. & Mrs Chester Gandy who have been residents of the east part of Chase county for many years left to make their home in San Diego,Ca.


     Wm. C. Yeager died at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs G. W. Yeager, at Bazaar. His death came. after a long illness. Two brothers are left to mourn his death who are Chas. D. Yeager and Frank Yeager, both of Bazaar. Wm. was fifty-one years old.


     The County Clerk was ordered by the Commissioner's to notify the City of Cedar Point, asking that the $500, which that city agreed to pay in the building of the new bridge across the Cottonwood river near there, be paid over to the county.


     Many oil and gas leases are being taken in the east part of Chase & Lyon Counties.


     All school day track events will be held at Cottonwood Falls on Sat. April 22nd. Event #5 will be a maypole dance by seventy-two children from grades 3 to 8 inclusive in the afternoon.


     The city's new fire siren alarm has just been placed on top of the Masonic building.


     It was approved at the City Council meeting that a drinking fountain be installed on the west side of Broadway as near the arch over the draw as possible.


     Apr 14 - A ham will be given to the largest family by Woodring Meat Market on Friday and Saturdy of next week during Merchant's at Home Days.


     The little daughter of Mr. & Mrs Dan Eastman of Thurman has been given the name of Barbara Elaine.
