Jul. 5, 1900 -- Two of the best water powers in the state are on the Cottonwood river near
Clements.
The Holmes Cornet band entertained at the 4th of July doings.

July 12, 1900 -- Born, to Mr. & Mrs Lybarger, of Homestead, a son. Mr. & Mrs Mackenzie of

J. A. Johnson and family left for their new home in Concordia.
The school board met and elected the following teachers for next year:
D. F. Skirk, Principal, B. F. Martin, Assistant and Minnie Norton, Ida
Schimpff, Anna Arnold, Hattie Doolittle, and Margaret Gillett.

of Saffordville.
The little son of Alec Jernsha died of cholera.
The exterior of the new house of Capt. Brandley is near completion. The
work is being supervised by S. D. Thomas of Elmdale.

Isiah Goodwin and Annie McLoud, both of Strong City were married by the
probate judge.

Born to Mr. & Mrs Al Richards, on Diamond Creek, a daughter.

Jul. 26, 1900 -- The long distance telephone company has put in stations in this city and
Strong.
C. E. Hildebrand, was hurt while boarding a moving train at Emporia.
Mort Newton, Con Harvey, Zeph Davis, John McCabe, Tom Grisham, 0. H. Drinkwater, Jerry Madden, J. T. Butler and Charles Schneider attended the Fort
Scott convention.
The Benevolent Society was held at Mrs. Chas. Yeager's, of Rock Creek.
Baby Richards died, Parents Mr. & Mrs H. Richards.
