     Feb 15 1918 - Born to Mr. & Mrs Leonard Perkins of Matfield Green, a girl.

     Feb 19 - F. E. Byram of Clements and Mildred Giddings of Cedar Point are married in Cottonwood Falls by Judge Coverdill. The will live on the farm of his father.

     Feb 22 - War time flour rationing in full force.

     James McCabe resigned his work at the round house. He has been employed as hostler for many years.

     Feb 26 - The Cedar Point public school building burns down. Only the stone walls are left standing. There was $5,000 insurance on the building.

     Mrs Will Odle, died at her home near Forest Hill.

     Archer Bros. who have been farming on the Crawford Ranch will move to the Littler Bros. farm near Elinor.

     Mar 1 - Elva Fisher of Cedar Point and Fred Stephenson of Clements are united in marriage.

     Born, to Mr. & Mrs Roy Bray of Homestead, a daughter.

     Mar 5 - Ordinance prohibits chickens or other domestic fowls to run at large within the city limits.

     Mr. & Mrs Sam Hildebrand are moving to a farm southeast of Emporia.

     Mar 8 - 176 rabbits bagged in a half days hunt by Don Arnold, Lew Waddell, and Jess Riggs on the G. A. McNee farm on Bloody creek.

     L. M. Swope, Cashier of the Exchange National Bank, of this city, tendered his resignation after 29 years of service.

     Ad- Rettiger Bros. Ben Davis apples at $1.50 per bushel, Winesap apples at $1.75 per bushel.

     Mar 12 - Roy Pendergraft just purchased a fine 160 acre farm in Lyon Co. He recently sold his Peyton creek farm to John Garwith of Middle creek.

     Mar 15 - Mrs G. W. Yeager, died suddenly at her home on Rock creek. Mrs Yeager was one of the earliest residents of the Rock creek vacinity.

     Mar 22 - Mrs C. A. Whitlock died at the home of her son Glen Whitlock of this city.

     Martin S. Ludwig and Mila I. Deering are wed. The bride was dressed in blue silk while the groom wore the conventional black.

     Apr 2 - Three more Chase County boys are home on furloughs, the three Buffington Bros., Harry, Charles and Walter. They are all stationed at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma.

     Forty-one pupils of the Cottonwood city school have planted gardens.

     Apr 5 - The D. K. Cartter farm adjoining this city was sold to Geo. A. McNee and Alvin Stanbrough. The deal was closed by the C. A. Cowley Real Estate Co.

     The marriage of one of Chase county's best know young couple has just occurred that of Leroy Pendergraft of Peyton creek and Ida May Wilson of Strong City.
