     Feb 5 1919 - Congressman Dudley Doolittle requests the Secretary of War to donate to Cottonwood Falls and Strong City one German cannon or field piece, captured by the American Army from Germany during the past year.

     Feb 7 - Probate Judge T. G. Allen issued the first marriage license since he took office on Feb. 3rd. to W. G. Goad and Alma Binger, both of Elmdale.

     Feb 10 - H. L. Prather, of Elmdale, purchased the large farm of Geo. A McNee west of Elmdale which contains 800 acres.

     Feb 12 -The first copy of the Cedar Point Echo published by the Cedar Point High School was issued this week. It is to be published monthly.

     Feb 17 - Mrs Mary Hegwer former resident of Stribbly creek and Prairie Grove has passed away. She was a sister of Julius and Frank Frey.

     Feb 19 - The schoolhouse dedication at Cedar Point will be held Feb. 22nd. with a program and chicken pie supper.

     Private Cecil R. Parks died in France of bronchial pneumonia, on Dec. 9th. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs Wm. Park of Cedar Point.

     Feb 21 - A large number of relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs Ross Evans, of South Fork, gathered at their home to help them celebrate their 10th. wedding anniversary.

     Frank Howard of, east of this city has just purchased 410 acres of pasture land belonging to Tom McCabe of Bazaar. Hays and Hays closed the deal.

     Feb 26 - Influenza epidemic still on at Elmdale.

     Feb 28 - Alfalfa fields are infected with crown rot, a disease which quickly causes the plant to die, according the County Farm Agent, Preston Hale.

     Miss Minnie Norton of Bazaar school, and several of her students went to Topeka where they visited the State Legislature.

     Mar 5 - Geo. Dunkin purchased the billard and pool hall business last week from Don Arnold.

     Mar 10 - Sgt. Wm. Rufus Ice of Cedar Point and Semira S. Cogswell are married.

     Mar 12 - Within three weeks there have been three deaths in the family of Andrew Hegwer, one of the best known farmers in this county, Marie Hegwer, Andrew's mother, then Andrew himself, and Mae Hegwer , his four year old daughter.

     Mar 14 - On account of increased cost of material and labor and all other expenses, it has become necessary to increase the subscription price of the Chase Co. Leader to $2.00 per year.

     Mar 17 - George Dunkin purchased the grocery stock and business of John Osborn, of this city. George will install a meat market and handle all kinds of fresh meat.
