     May 9 1919 - The City School will hold its annual field day program.

     County Clerk, C. A. Coe reports all of his deputy assessors as completing their assessment work.

     May 12 - Seventeen Chase county boys of Company M of the 39 infantry, have arrived back home.

     Alumni banquet for all graduates of the Chase County High School will be in the Methodist church basement on May 15th.

     First meeting of new Federation of Business and Professional Women of America.

     Ed Maddox of Bazaar will have a sale of about forty head of horses and mules that belong to him and Mr. Pankey.

     May 14 - John I. McClellan, of Bazaar and Bessie Stanbrough, of Saffordville, both 22 years of age are married.

     Andrew Tarrant of Matfield Green and Laura B. Fent were married in Cottonwood Falls.

     Harry C. O'Reilly, of Strong City who was a delegate from Chase county returned from St. Louis where he attended the Legion of American Soldiers conference.

     May 19 - The home coming celebration for soldier boys coming home proves a big success.

     Edna Obley and Jas. Lyles, both of Saffordville are wed.

     May 21 - Clint Baldwin closed a deal this week for the purchase of Jack Trayer's house and land just southeast of this city.

     May 23 - Hugh McLinden died at his home several miles north of Cedar Point.

     May 26 - Congressman Doolittle, of this place, who recently completed his third term as Congressman from the Fourth Kansas District, has just accepted an appointment as special representative of the U. S. Treasury Department to Italy. Rome will be his headquarters. Mrs Doolittle and daughter, Beverly, will make their home in Strong City during Mr. Doolittle's absence.

     Jun 2 - Child labor laws will be enforced in Kansas.

     Edith Titus and Chester D. Tolle are wed and will make their home in LaHarpe, Kansas. Edith is the sister of Dr. A. E. Titus of this place.

     Jun 4 - W. W. Austin buys Peabody light plant.

     Jun 11 - The Municipal Brass Band of Hutchinston will give a two hour concert at Lake Tahoe, near Cedar Point on the Sayre place.

     Jun 13 - T. J. Cameron and Son received one of the latest equipped electric hair clippers for their barber shop.

     The Strong City Council let the contract for the paving of Cottonwood Avenue at the price of a little over $42,700.

     Sidney Cahoone and Belle Riley are married at the bride's home of Mr. & Mrs J. R. Riley, southwest of this city. Chase county will be their home.

     Jun 16 - Miss Olive Wilcox, will give a talk at the Methodist church, on her experience as a Red Cross nurse over in France.
