     Aug. 23, 1900 -- W. P. Evans was nominated for County Commissioner by the delegates from the 2nd District.


     A big public sale, all property, etc. belonging to the C. W. Rogler, estate. J. N. Burton and C. Crouch, auctioneers.


     John Sanders attorney in Cottonwood Falls.


     Deaths- Dick Martin of Strong City, Mrs Ellington, mother of Mrs Chas. Burnett, Diamond Creek.


     May Williams will teach at Cahola and Rees Byram at Jackson.


     The stone work on the opera house in Strong City will soon be completed. John Shofe is the superintendant.


     Aug. 30, 1900 -- John Pretzer of Elmdale and Henry Wiechold, near Elk have passed away.


     W. A. Waddell & Family are moving into the Perry house, near the courthouse.


     Will Oles rented his farm to Earl Spencer.


     A camp meeting is held at the D. P. Shaft farm, at Clements.


     Sept. 6, 1900 -- M. H. Lewis' new greenhouse is finished.


     Sid Breese left for Lawrence to take exam before entering KU.


     Deaths; Henry P. Coe. The seven year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Coleman, Buck Creek.


     Trouble in Benderville between Rev. J. H. Duncan and C. J. Babb.


     G. W. Yeager will sell, animals, & farm implements at a public sale Sept. 13.


     Sept. 13, 1900 -- Dell Rose has moved to Cedar Point.


     The machinery for the Creamery is being put in.


     Marriages: Frank Hackett, Cottonwood Falls to Jennie Cunninghame of Elmdale. Z. A. Emerson of Emporia & Nellie B. Williams of Cedar Point.


     W. L. Wood, his sons, Ray & Dave and Judd Williams, had a narrow escape from death, while cleaning out a well on Fox Creek.


     Marriage license issued to; Carrol E. Johnson, Florence, & Mabel L. Bedel, of Thurman.


     Sept. 20, 1900 -- Miss Carrie Breese will teach in Colorado this year.


     Mrs Hungerford entertained the Benevolent Society.
