     Jun 16 1919 - Mrs Frank Byram dies after an extended illness.

     Jun 25 - Motor car thefts reach surprising number.

     A quiet but beautiful home wedding took place, that of Jesse Kirk of Bazaar and Hazel Adams of Peyton creek. Their future home will be on the Kirk farm at Bazaar.

     Jun 27 - Mrs Ruby Wagoner has passed away. Her maiden name was Ruby Brandley. She and Mr. Wagoner have one son, Claude Wagoner.

     A one cent sale is advertised at the Rexall store in Strong City.

     Jul 2 - Dudley Doolittle visits the grave of Private Howard B. Wood, who fell in Belleau Wood, France, during the war.

     Charles Yoakem and Wm. Sheridan have each purchased a new Fordson tractor.

     Jul 7- First wheat brings $2.06 and $2.08 per bushel.

     Jul 11 - Prisoners who are held in jail work to pay bill to county.

     Jul 14 - The Burgner-Bowman Lumber Company has purchased the J. R. Short Lumber Company here and will take possession immediately.

     The resignation of C. C. Roniger from his position on the county grader is accepted from the commissioners.

     Jul 16 - Cecil Kuhl and Mabel Brown are united in marriage.

     Jul 18 - One hundred and eighty-four Chase county women are taking a course in Home Nursing, under the direction of Miss Olive Wilcox.

     Jul 21 - The petition allowing the owners to junk the street railway which has operated between Strong City and Cottonwood Falls for nearly 40 years was granted.

     Jul 21 - The Bank Hotel owned by Rose Rettiger has just changed managers. C. C. Maloney will be in charge of the business, and plans to make extensive improvements.

     A platform dance will be held at Strong City.

     Jul 25 - Drs. Woodhull and Titus will give inoculations for Typhoid fever. The Board of Heath offers these free of charge.

     A son was born to Mr. & Mrs Andy Tarrant, Jr. of Mafield Green.

     Jul 28 - Chautauqua program includes fine talent this year.

     Jul 30 - Bond election for a new high school is set for Sept. 2nd.

     The location for the Chautauqua has been changed to the Holsinger Grove in the northeast part of town because of roads being torn up by sewer excavation around the high school.

     Aug 11 - The passing of a noble woman in this city after a brief illness. Mrs H. S. Fritz who has spent the greater part of her life in this country and city. She was an excellent nurse and had no children.

     Henry ImMasche of Saffordville and Sam Roberts who lives east of Cottonwood Falls have died.
