Nov 17 1919 - S. R. Speer, known as "Links", was killed in a motor car accident a short distance west of Strong City.
Walter Hassen of Strong City who operates the motor bus line between the twin Cities has just installed heat in his cars.
Nov 19 - The J. E. Bocook family are off to their new home in Texas.
Nov 24 - Michael Norton brother of P. J. Norton of this city, died at Oklahoma. Michael came to Chase County when he was sixteen years of age and lived in this county many years. He was 83 at his passing.
Nov 26 - There will be a cake walk at the Stribby school house. Everyone invited.
Nov 28 - A very quiet Thanksgiving wedding took place near Cedar Point, that of Myra Byram and Ross Overstreet. They will go to the farm at Homestead after a short honeymoon.
Dec 1 - First big snow of the season, 3-4 inches cover the ground.
Dec 3 - Hunters in Chase County are numerous this fall as the County Clerk's office has issued one hundred and fifty licenses so far.
Dr. M. W. Woodhull is named as chairman of first aid under the direction of the Red Cross.
Dec 5 - McNee and Swope sell large blocks of stock in the Exchange National Bank, purchaser is Dudley Doolittle of Strong City.
Santa Fe trains are still running late, due to a big snow in the extreme northwestern part of the state.
Dec 10 - According to James Atkinson, who is janitor at the courthouse, it requires about 1,500 pounds of coal to heat the courthouse this kind of weather.
Dec 15 - The Cottonwood City schools will have two weeks vacation during the holidays.
Dec 17 - Past forty-ninth wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs W. W. Wilson of Strong City, early settlers of Chase County was celebrated at their home.
Dec 19 - John Stewart is the new city marshal at Cottonwood Falls. He will move to town from his farm south of town.
Dec 22 - Clair Mason of this city, and Evadna Pyles of Elmdale were married at Salina. She is the second daughter of Mr. & Mrs Thos. Pyles.
Santa Fe train service is normal again.
Dec 24 - Ice men secure a fine big supply of ice this season.
Mrs Aaron Jones of Saffordville, died at her home at age 75.
Dec 26 - Blanch Errett and Wm. Rider, both of this city, were married in Strong City.
Also Catherine Austin and Thomas H. Norton, of Norton creek. Both were born in this county.
Dec 29 - Beth Smethers and Wm. Ward, both of Elmdale are wed.
Ad - Hand picked navy beans at H. Cahoone Grocery - "Best Things To Eat," will sell a peck at $1.60 or a bushel at $2.35.
