     Jan 23 1920 - Doolittle and his department going after the stills. So far seven stills have been siezed on the first day of the new law, in various parts of the state.

     Feb 26 - Patrick McCabe, eighty years of age, died at his home at Bazaar. Mr. McCabe came to Chase county in 1858. In the early years Mr. McCabe was for many years coroner of this county before there were any physicians located here.

     Feb 2 - Many influenza cases in the county are reported by Dr. M. W. Woodhull.

     Charles W. Mock and Lulu Lutt, both of Clements are wed.

     Feb 6 - John E. Shofe, former Cottonwood Falls mason and contractor, who has been missing since the 18th of Dec., arrived in this city safe and sound.

     Feb 6 - Pearly M. Oles formerly of Chase Co. died in Washington, D. C. He lived at Bazaar for about twenty-three years.

     January was warm and dry according to E. B. Green, weather reporter of Bazaar.

     Feb 9 - Railroad car shortages works hardship on farmers.

     Wm. Mercer, of Homestead, has just purchased what is believed to be the highest priced herd bull ever brought into Chase Co. He paid $2,500 for the two-year-old-bull.

     A. W. Eastham of Bazaar, opens a grocery and general merchandise store.

     Joel A. Cooper of Bazaar is having a tile garage built. It is located just west of W. R. Blackburn's store and will be 25 feet wide and 50 feet long.

     Feb 11 - Mr. & Mrs W. G. McCandless celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, at their home southeast of Cottonwood Falls.

     Oil drilling is going on up near Elk way.

     Feb 13 - Cedar Point fire loss set at around $30,000.

     Trapping is a good money making business now, due to the present high price of all kinds of pelts.

     Feb 16 - The wedding of Harriet Soyez and Harvey Shumate takes place in this city.

     A week of fun and amusement will be held at Clements which will be the carnival of mirth, given by the Whit's Wonder Works Concert.

     Feb 18 - Mrs Eugene Gamer( Ellen Theresa Stubenhofer) has died at St. France's Hospital. She has spent practically all her life in Chase Co.

     Chase Co. will have its first gopher poisoning demonstration by the County Agent.

     Feb 20 - Helen Barrett and Newton Sayre are united in marriage. Also Hazel Talkington and Frank S. Frey.

     Feb 23 - Hubert Rettiger, who has been critically ill with pneumonia at his home in Strong City has died. Hubert is the oldest son of Rosanne Rettiger.

     Feb 25 - Mrs James Spain of the Jackson district in the southeast part of this county died at her home. She leaves a husband and six children.

     Feb 27 - The George McNee family are moving to California.

     Mar 1 - Carrie Wood of Elmdale and Andrew Drummond of Plymouth were united in marriage.
