     Mar 1 1920 - The city will have a lyceum course next winter.

     Mar 3 - F. G. Siler is the new President of the Exchange National Bank due to Geo. McNee moving to California.

     Mr. & Mrs Dan Eastman of Thurman are the proud parents of a baby girl.

     Mar 5 - The private school, at Cedar Point, taught by Mrs Jessie D. Sumner, east of town has closed with a big dinner.

     Mar 8 - Mrs. Edward Betty, died at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs Ernest Treimer, northeast of Strong City. She leaves a husband and three small children. She was only 28 years old.

     Lee Byram of Cedar Point was seriously injured when his tractor by some unknown reason he fell beneath it, which it passed over him, crushing one knee and painfully bruising him about the legs and back.

     Robert LeMay and Thelma Campbell both of Hymer are wed.

     The Star Grocery is going out of business. Big sale on.

     Mar 10 - The Gregory Bros. store was robbed. No trace of the robbers has been found.

     The seven month old baby girl of Mrs Edward Betty dies. Mother and baby will be buried in the same grave.

     Mar 15 - Fire destroyed the large barn on Jane McCabe's farm, near Bazaar. The barn was a large stone one and was partly insured.

     Mar 19 - Cottonwood Falls will form an Auxiliary to Claude Newlee Post for all women and girls.

     The second dust storm of the week in Chase County.

     Mar 22 - A big gas well has been drilled on the Jesse Starkey farm southeast of Elmdale by the Twin Cities Gas Co.

     J. L. Stone has a big sale ad in the Leader for the purpose of selling his farm and equipment near Saffordville.

     Mar 24 - The grandfather catfish of the Cottonwood river has just been caught by postmaster, Lew Waddell and Jesse Riggs, of this city. The big fish weighted 59 pounds and was caught on a pole and line.

     Mar 25 - Rain brings relief from the dust and parched fields.

     Mar 29 - Fred Howard of this place and Anna Marie Crocker, of Matfield Green were quietly married. They will go to the Howard farm east of this city.

     Mar 29 - Foster Shelley has sold his garage to Willard Hamm. Willard has been engaged in this business at Elmdale, Strong City and in this city for quite some time.

     Mar 31 - Mrs Lot Leonard who came to Chase County in 1859 and settled on South Fork, a few miles south of Bazaar has died in Topeka. Burial will be at Bazaar.

     Several new buildings to replace the ones destroyed by the recent fire are now in course of construction at Cedar Point, the new lumber yard and a large garage.

     Beginning April 1st shaves and haircuts in the city and Strong City will be 50 cents for a haircut and 25 cents for a shave. They formerly were 40 cents and 20 cents.
