     Apr 25 -1921 - Many improvements are being made at Camp Wood. Sixteen new huts, a wash house, a guest house, and installing a water system.

     Farm wages in a big slump.

     Apr 27 - Ex-Service men should apply for Victory Medals.

     At the Commissioners meeting Tom Norton was employed to run the county truck at a salary of $100 per month.

     Apr 29 - The price of gasoline took a drop of four cents. The price now is 20.6 cents a gallon.

     May 2 - Bazaar, received more than 4,000 cattle in one day. This consisted of between 125 and 150 car loads.

     The Bazaar Sunday School gives a weenie roast. One hundred and over attended.

     Andrew J. Sager, son of Mr. & Mrs John Sager died at Bazaar. Andrew had diabetes and was 23 years of age. He was buried at the Sharp creek cemetery.

     5-4 - Catheryn Austin of Emporia and Lloyd Leslie Remy of Strong City were married.

     Also Albert Cooper and Ma Webster of Rocky Glen.

     Mrs E. W. Pinkston known to all Chase County as “Auntie” Pinkston, celebrated her 84th birthday. She has been a resident of Kansas since 1854.

     May 6 - Earl Yeager, ten years old, saves the life of his 8 year old companion, Henry Brecht, from drowning. The two boys were fishing on Rock Creek.

     The total enrollment at the Chase County High School reaches 210, according to Principal, E. W. Ewing.

     Chauncey Green of Strong City and his wife and baby left for Savannah, Ga., where he will attend the national meeting of the Railroad Telegraphers Union

     May 9 - Green bugs gone — so is the first crop of alfalfa.

     May 16 - Mary Katherine White, only daughter of Mr. & Mrs W. A. White, of Emporia died from the results of injuries when she fell from a horse last week.

     For the first time in nearly twenty years Chase county is to have a real old time county fair which will be held in this city some time this fall.

     Mr. & Mrs Roy Beedle, of Bazaar, are the happy parents of a baby girl named, Beverly Grace.

     5-18- Potato bugs invade the young potato plants in Chase county.

     John Umbarger of Hymer wins in the fat hog judging in Manhattan, which was the first for Chase County High School.
