     Oct. 11, 1900 -- C. B. Hager sold his grocery store to Lawrence Gustin.


     A. M. White, is the janitor at the courthouse.


     District No. 62, on Bloody Creek, has been changed to No. 35.


     A dummy was found hanging on the bank of the river, below the bridge, with a placard on his back bearing the legend, "Pickpockets beware."


     Rev. Joseph Bates dies.


     Evander Bocook and Tot Blackshere have running horses at the Morris Co. fair.


     Married: Rev. J. H. Oliver & Miss Olga Proeger.


     Marriage License Issued to: Geo. D. Fisher, & Mary N. Scharenberg, Chas. J. Fox & Amelia Hemrick.


     Oct. 18, 1900 -- The telephone system is now working in both towns.


     Persons desiring to use the rural postal route are required to place a box on the line easily reached by the carrier.


     The County Commissioners found their work very easy on auditing, C. A. Cowley accounts as Treasurer.


     Good stock farm for rent, at one dollar per acre. Inquire of J. R. Jeffrey, of Elmdale.


     Marriage License Issue to: Wm. Stubenhofer & Mary E. Martin, Frank P. Gamer, & Mary Powers all of Elmdale.


     W. S. Romigh has sold his paper, the Reveille to Phil Goodreau.


     J. N. Sanford, Republican nominee for Justice of the Peach, and Sam Ludwig, Democrate nominee for Constable, both of Cedar Township, have declined.


     Oct. 25, 1900 -- Old Mr. Bradburn of Strong City was buried on Saturday.


     Mrs John Emslie has sold out and will return to Scotland to live.


     One of the large barns belonging to the 101 Cattle Co. burned to the ground together with all the contents.


     Mr & Mrs Clay Shaft celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.


     Nov. 1, 1900 -- Born, a daughter to Mr. & Mrs R. B. Riggs and a son, to Mr. & Mrs Lorenzo Walters. all of Cedar Point.


     John Evans, of this city, has received the contract to carry the daily mail on the Wonsevu route.


     Harry Breese is a football member of the University football team.


     Married; Sadie Sinnott & L. C. Siler.
