     Jun 13 1921 - Mr. & Mrs Harry Hudson, of this city, are the parents of a baby son, and has been given the name of Thomas Woodrow. This is Mr. & Mrs Hudson’s first son; they have three daughters.

     A big crowd of over one thousand attends the opening at Lake Tahoe.

     Santa Fe Trail is getting its share of tourist traffic.

     Chautauqua five big days at Elmdale.

     Two boys were arrested by City Marshall, John Stewart for violating the city ordinance in regard to setting off firecracker on Broadway.

     Jun 17 - Shortage of harvest hands in Chase County.

     $500 fireworks display will be part of the big Fourth of July celebration. The biggest seen in this city.

     The White Way poles on Broadway are being painted white all except the base which will be left black.

     Jun 22 - C. A. Sayre was elected President of the permanent Chase County Fair Assoc. Neil McCallum of Strong City, Secretary and Albert Rogler, Treasurer.

     Jun 22 - For Sale - Our beautiful park and home come early and look it over. J. M. Bates, Cottonwood Falls.

     Jun 24 - A contract has been let to the C. J. McCoy Construction Co. of Emporia, to lay brick between this city and Strong City.

     Jun 27 - County Fair will be held Oct. 12th through the 15th.

     The Strong City Auditorium is getting a complete overhauling. The seats are being renovated, the floor reinforced and repaired. Both upstairs and downstairs are getting a good cleaning and fixing.

     Jun 29 - No more free hunting licenses to service men.

     Census shows county population is decreasing.

     The merchants of Cottonwood Falls will close stores at noon on the 4th. Some will open later.

     Jul 1 - Mrs Sam Roberts of Strong City is instantly killed when the Ford car she was driving turned completely over, pinning her under one side.

     The C. A. Coe house on Spring creek was destroyed by fire.

     Jul 4 - Cottonwood Falls is prepared for five thousand for the fourth of July celebration.

     Jul 6 - Four thousand attend the celebration even though it rained over nine- tenths.

     The Forest Hill sunday school now has a membership of fifty-three.

     Jul l3 - The first work on the new half mile dirt track on the County Fair grounds has started. The corn was cut and given to the dairymen of the city.

     Marie Wood and Wm. E. Forney were married in Wichita. Wm. is the oldest son of Mr. & Mrs E. D. Forney of this city.

     Jul 13 - Addie Jones Swift, wife of Forester Swift of Matfield Green has passed away. She has been a resident of this county since 1876.
