     Jun 17 1924 - All Chase county pastures are filled.

     Jun 27 - Percy Burnett has opened a feed and produce station at Matfield Green and has Sidney Meade looking after it.

     Jul 1 - Tom Morton is to have charge of the Standard Oil Companys new filling station just completed on the corner of Broadway and Main Street in Cottonwood Falls.

     Jul 4 - The Kuhl Drug Co. has moved into its new store building which was just overhauled. It was formerly the Smith Bros.

     Jul 11 - For a period of thirty days all movie shows in the county will be under the supervision of the American Legion Posts of the county.

     Jul 29 - Santa Fe will discontinue the Bazaar branch between Cottonwood Falls and Bazaar, but will run from Strong City to Gladstone.

     Aug 1 - This week the County Community High School campus is being mown and put in shape for the Chautauqua session.

     Aug 12 - Last of estate of the late Andrew Drummond is sold at Sheriff’s sale.

     Aug 22 - The Kuhl Drug Co. of this city has bought the Dr. Newell Drug Store at Matfield Green and will have it open for business soon.

     The north side school at Strong City has just had a new heating plant installed.

     Sep 5 - Some teachers for Strong City this term are; Mrs Grace Wheeler, B. Anna Quinn, Miss Etta Anderson, Murial Shumaker, Paula Treimer, Victor Shumaker, Gerald Becker, and Opal Evelyn Pennington.

     Mrs Seward H. Baker died at her home at Bazaar. Her maiden name was Miss Josepha G. Tinkham. She was the mother of six children, Edward, Lois, Arthur Eugene, Mary Ruth, Mrs Laura Borthwick and Ula, who died in infancy.

     Also Martha Alice Stone of Toledo passed away.

     The new city well for Cottonwood Falls can supply double the amount of water now used.

     Sep 26 - More than 40 horses are entered in the races at the Chase Co. Fair, $1,000 in purses.

     Oct 7 - Football scores — Saffordville 68, Elmdale 0. Chase Co. 33, Americus 0.

     Oct 14 - Rettiger Brothers of Strong City and C. C. McDowell of this city have bumper apple crops this season.

     Oct 21 - Gregory Brothers ad; Setson $7.00 each, other good hats $3.50, $4.00 and $5.00.

     Oct 24 - Walter Dawson, 21, who worked on the farm of his uncle, Sherman Dawson, near Clements is accidently killed by the discharge of a shotgun.

     J. D. McKittrick about 73, died at his home at Wonsevu.

     Oct 28 - The large house of the late Capt. Henry Brandley south of Matfield Green burned to the ground.

     The new out-of-door basketball court at the CCCHS has been completed and also an iron flag pole set.
