Nov 4 1924 - Bible study classes start in the city school. A complete six month course will be held.
Francis Perkins of Matfield Green was named as Marshal and was put on the job.
Dec 2 - Big brown rats, scores of them have been causing no end of grief
for Miss Ruth Stone, young school teacher in the High Prairie District
#55.
Dec 5 - Mr. E. Gamer of Elmdale, has twenty-four years in the telephone business.
Dec 9 - Leroy Giger of Elmdale has just purchased part of the C. A. Coe farm.
Dec 12 - Deaths: Mrs Wes (Katie) Bray died at her home in Matfield Green.
Also Dr. A. W. Cormack who resided here about a year ago has died.
Dec 16 - Chase County’s school population shows a decrease of nine percent the last four years.
Dec 19 - Ernest McKenzie purchases the Holmes building on the east side of Broadway.
James Yeager, 16, will be the Captain of the Chase County Community High School next term.
Shaw school district #34, east of Matfield Green will sell school property at auction. Students now attend school at Matfield Green.
Dec 26 - Soon after the New Year, Uncle Sam is going to issue a new half dollar piece.
Jan 2 1925 - A foot of snow covers Chase County.
Jan 13 - The grip epidemic seems to have struck this town and vicinity.
Jan 16 - Maurice Yoakem, the 11 year old son of Mr. & Mrs C. 0. Yoakem, of the southwest part of this county is in critical condition after a head injury from a falling tree.
George Rider, who has operated the store at Elk, has sold out.
Jan 23 - Many farmers over the county are butchering and meat curing at this time.
Louise Grimwood and Ray Crofoot both of Cedar Point are married.
Feb 6 - Carl Anderson and Ross Hager laid a new floor down in The Exchange National Bank last night while the officers slept.
Feb 10 - John B. Stanbrough, who came to this part of Kansas in 1859, died at his home on Peyton Creek.
Feb 20 - Chase County’s largest Baby Beef Club, composed of boys and girls from all parts of the county is off and running.
Mar 3 - Wedding of Miss Marion Wilson and Ray Gordon of Fox Creek is held.
Mar 13 - The Methodist church auction at Elmdale raises $1,200 to pay off the church debt.
