     May 5 1926 - Chas. Davis has resigned as county attorney and S. R. Blackburn has been appointed to take his place.

     May 12 - The hail storm and accompanied heavy rainstorm does much damage in Chase County.

     Most of the courthouse family shivered in their offices. The boiler of the courthouse heating plant is on the blink. So, Harry Hudson the janitor cannot fire the furnace.

     May 26 - Wilcox Brothers have just installed one of the most complete, up-to-date, fountains. It is a Bilt-Rite with electric refrigeration.

     Jun 2 - Ninety - three graves of veterans in Chase County.

     Jun 9 - Cavalry headquarters squadron detachment located here.

     Jun 30 - The first of nearly three hundred new road markers which will be put up to designate the national highways through Chase Co. was erected.

     Jul 7 - Clements school addition may do it’s own building. Chase County has 30 students at the Emporia Teacher’s college.

     Jul 14 -The commissioners instructed the county engineer to remove all advertising signs from the public highway.

     Jul 28 - Whitney Brothers of Florence have opened a picture show in the auditorium in Strong City and will put on shows each weekday evening.

     Aug 4 - Drew Narramore has purchased A. N. Heckendorn’s interest of the Elmdale Mercantile store.

     Aug 18 - Legion post receives German 77 field piece. It will be mounted on a concrete base in the courthouse.

     Twenty-seven young men enlist in the 114th, Cavalry which is being organized. A few locals are listed; Wallace P. Evans, Chas. B. Howard, Frank Gaddie, Jr., Clifford A. Bell, Arch E Miller, Robert C. Gibb, James J. Yeager and Harold F. Stout.

     Sep 8 - Emma Prather and Nelson Poe are married at the Elmdale Methodist church.

     Sep 22 - Approximately twenty-five percent of the students of the CCCHS are enrolled in the orchestra, by far the largest one in the schools history.

     Twenty volumes from the school library of Maple Hill No. 46, have been secured up in a box. They were deemed not exactly proper for the young pupils to read.

     Elk, is to be moved two miles southeast and located close to the Elk-Union consolidated school building.

     Sep 29 - Only two motorcycles registered in Chase county for 1926.

     Oct 6 - News of the marriage of Ellsworth H. Jeffrey of Elmdale and Miss Emily Ruth Merritt, of the Forest Hill vicinity.

     Oct 20 - Between 3,000 and 5,000 fish were distributed last week in Chase county streams and ponds from the State Fish Hatchery at Pratt.

     Willard Hamm opens an auto repair shop on Broadway.
