     Sep l4 l927 - Hereafter there will be no center of the street parking in Cottonwood Falls.

     Sep 21 - Chase County prisioners, to work on county roads, if details can be worked out.

     Sep 28 - Because the rains have made it impossible to use the race track at the county fair grounds the horsemen are compelled to exercise them on the paving.

     Matfield Green high school will publish a paper “The Matfield Green News.”

     Oct 5 - The high school bonds at Cottonwood Falls were defeated by a vote of 625 to 768.

     The city is completing the laying of a four - inch water main to the fair grounds.

     Opal Florence Link and Orville Dick were married on Sep 15 which has just been found out. They are keeping house at Elinor as Mr. Dick works for the Santa Fe Railroad.

     Oct 12 - Homer Evans wins the cow-calling contest at the fair.

     Nonnie Carmons was shot to death in the billard hall of H. S. Spencer at Strong City.

     Oct 19 - Ruth E. Tittle and Paul Trayer are wed.

     Oct 26 Ad - Pajamas at Scribner’s Cash Store. $l.50 - $1.60 or $2.00 per pair.

     Nov 9 - Henry Rogler of Matfield is named Master Farmer.

     Nov 30 - The Chase County Leader will print Chase County History compiled by Prof. D. A. Ellsworth, Beginning in Jan. of 1928.

     Dec 28 - Harmon Doolittle dies of apoplexy while driving to his Strong City home from the picture show in Cottonwood Falls.

     Lillian Glanville and Floyd Dexter are married at Emporia.

     Jan 4 1928 - Eighteen below—sets a new low weather record.

     There will be no Chautauqua in Cottonwood Falls this year. This Decision was reached by the board as the last five or six years it has been a losing proposition.

     Dudley Doolittle will succed his father J. H. Doolittle in the Strong City State Bank as President.

     Another of Chase County’s very early settlers has passsed away, Charles W. Swift.

     Jan 11 - The Romigh murder case will go to trial. Romigh was later acquitted.

     Jan 25 - Russell Cahoone and Hazel M. Harris are wed. The young couple expect to go to housekeeping on the Altemus farm west of the city, which Russel will farm.

     Feb 1 - Henry Rogler was given in the list as the probable candidate from this district for State Senator.
