     Jun 25 1930 - John Bray of Bazaar bleeds to death from a severed artery in his leg when his knife slips while making a drinking trough for his chickens.

     Jul 9 - Lewis Campbell, 5 year old son of Mr. & Mrs Jack Campbell, Jr. drowns in the Cottonwood river.

     The two-story frame-stucco building in Elmdale occupied by the Sam Willey restaurant was completely destroyed by fire.

     A very pretty wedding was held when Myrtle Buffon and Wm. Austin, Jr. were united in marriage.

     Jul 16 - Alfred Drummond, Clements, kills his wife, Mrs Frances Drummond, and then himself. Noble S. Sollars, the former husband of Mrs Drummond then shot himself.

     Willey’s at Elmdale to open another restaurant in new location.

     Mr. & Mrs Walter 0. Buffington are the parents of a son. The Buffington family live on the Gregory farm east of this city.

     Jul 23 - Mrs Myrtle Dull, the Bell Telephone operator at Elmdale, is again honored for her heroic work during the 1929 flood.

     E. B. Green's of Bazaar sudden death is a shock to the Chase County people.

     Aug 6 - Mrs Pearl Pennington has sold her farm on Southfork of 435 acres between Matfield Green and Bazaar to Jesse Kirk.

     Aug 13 - A grass fire on the Santa Fe right-of-way sets fire to the frame stables at the Fair grounds. It was put out before to much damage was done by the fire dept.

     J. B. Glanville is erecting a new bungelow on his farm on Bloody Creek east of this city.

     Aug 20 - Chase County is in a drouth condition.

     Sep 3 - Toledo dedicates new school house.

     Camp Wood closes biggest season in history of the camp.

     Sep 17 - The first infantile paralysis case in Chase Co. was reported, that of Miss Frances Toburn. Miss Toburn is a teacher at Cedar Point Rural High School.

     Elmdale is to have electricty soon.

     Oct 1 - Tenth big Chase County Fair is now on.

     Consolidated District #55 is Chase County’s newest school district. Prairie Hill and Banks were the two consolidating schools.

     Oct 8 - The relay horse races run by Chase Countains at the fair were as follows; horses ridden by Chas. Howard of this city, won first; and the horses of Wm. Mercer of Clements, were third.

     Ernest McKenzie will retire as Fair Secretary, as his time is much needed at the store.

     The quarter mile county pony races for boys under 16 were won by: Leslie Potter, first, George Yeager, Second; and Gerald Baker, Third.

     Deaths; Mrs Silas Talkington of Cedar Point, and Mrs. Chas. Sherffius of Elmdale.

     Oct 15 - Sheriff Oliver Burton says the jail is just about filled with prisoners. There are now six.
