     Oct 22 1930 - Wm. H. Grimwood of Cedar Point dropped dead while on a fishing trip on Cedar Creek due to heart trouble.

     Also the youngest child, the two-year old daughter, Elrean Lucile, of Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Cahoone.

     Elmdale Rural High School football team won the game with Cedar Point by a margin of 35 to 0.

     Oct 29 - Miss Mamie Campbell and Gilbert Mott are wed. The young couple will make their home in Cottonwood Falls.

     Nov 5 - Mrs Pearl Pennington has purchased the farm of John Mann twelve miles southwest of this city. It consists of a half section and is on the head of Rock Creek. Most of it is pasture land.

     Nov 19 - Mr. & Mrs L. W. Byram of Clements will celebrate their 50th Golden wedding anniversary.

     Dec 3 - Four large arches which will span Broadway and be electrically lighted will “dress up” Cottonwood Falls for the holiday season.

     Dec 10 - Dr. W. A. Browne has been elected as the new Fair Secretary.

     Nathan Brant of the Brant Ranch on Southfork southeast of this city has passed away.

     Three Chase County boys earn Aggie football letters; James J. Yeager, A. H. Stephenson and Frank Gaddie.

     Dec 17 - Mary Campbell, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Joe Campbell of Bloody Creek was killed and three others injured when a train hit there auto at Saffordvjlle.

     Lillard Brown and Mary Jane Brewer were united in marriage by Judge T. G. Allen in this city.

     Strong City has a marshal again. The City Council appointed C. A. Ward for the job.

     Jan 7 1931 - The combined store and residence at Elk, and the cottage belonging to Miss Grace Campbell were all destroyed by fire New Year’s morning.

     Sheriff Oliver Burton will become a farmer again after 4 years of service. The Burton farm is on Rock Creek.

     Jan 14 - The Exchange National Bank re-elects present officers; F. G. Suer; President, Wm. F. Norton; Vice-President, W. B. Penny; Cashier, and Roy Mushrush; Assistant Cashier.

     Jan 14 - New Chase County Board of Commissioners are; Levi Jones, Jesse Starkey, N. M. Patton. Dr. J. F. Shelley, of Elmdale was appointed Physician for the poor of Diamond Creek.

     Jan 28 - After more than 76 years of wedded life, at 94, Mr. B. M. Huston is dead.

     Feb 4 - Mrs Susan Sauble passed her 80th birthday on Feb. 1st. and a celebration was held in her honor. She married David Sauble in 1875.
