     Feb 24 1932 - Practically all of the workers at the Santa Fe roundhouse at Strong City will be on a four-day week working basis.

     The Frank Cooper family, of Rock Creek, have moved to the farm of Mrs C. D. Yeager, where Frank will farm.

     Mar 2 - The county prisoners have just finished redecorating the sheriff’s quarters at the courthouse. Sheriff Arthur L. Deering had them paperhanging and painting.

     Mar 9 - A fire destroys the ImMasche store at Ellinor.

     Harry Loney is the new marshal for Cottonwood Falls.

     Eva Lange and Gilbert Murdock were married in Topeka.

     Mar 16 - Olive Price of Reading and Wayne Rogler of Matfield Green were united in marriage.

     Mar 23 - E. C. ImMasche has started on the foundation of a new filling station and store at Ellinor to replace the store which burned awhile back

     Mar 30 - Tree planting in Swope Park, in honor of the Bicentennial of George Washington’s birthday.

     The Board of Education of the Cottonwood Falls City School has reduced the expense for the operation for the next year. The teachers salaries have been cut approximately 16½ percent in addition to the elimination of the music teacher.

     Apr 6 - Most of the folks at the county farm have been ill with influenza. There are nine inmates. A. J. Stewart, is the superintendant.

     Apr 13 - Schools reporting teachers hired; Vernon, Minnie Norton, salary $88 per month; Norton, Eva Burton, salary $50 per month; Buck Creek, Opal Noel, salary $55 per month; and Tea Pot Mound, Marie McCabe, salary $60 per month.

     Henry Cahoone was elected as new school treasurer of the Cottonwood Falls City School.

     Three new aluminum stop signs have been replaced by the old rubber signs by Henry Giese, City Street Commissioner.

     Apr 20 - Miss Ruth Short will occupy her new frock shop on Broadway. She will move her stock from the Gregory building this week.

     Apr 27 - Ruby Brandley is the champion in Class A in the Chase County spelling contest. Ruby is also a poet, having written from 75-100 poems. Ruby is eleven and in the seventh grade.

     May 11 - “Bud” Grokett has rented the jewelry shop building of Mrs Blanche Finley and will open his barber shop.

     5-18 Frank Gaddie and Roy Beedle notify county officials that vandals broke several large windows out in the Bazaar schoolhouse.

     The Kansas Rockne memorial movement is under way to mark the spot where the plane crashed over a year ago.
