     May 18 1932 - This city has a new woman barber, Miss Cecil Ballew, 15 cent shaves and 25 cent haircuts. She is working in the Earl Beardmore shop.

     May 25 - Gertrude Kaltenbacher of Elmdale and Charles Reginald Hager of this city are wed.

     Jun 1 - Miss Mary Baker and Chester Blackburn, both of Bazaar were quietly married in this city. Following the marriage the young couple went to Rock creek to make their home on the Blackburn farm which Chester farms with his father C. A. Blackburn.

     The marriage of one of Chase County’s well known young couples took place, that of Miss Crystal Jones of Matfield Green and George W. Deering of the Homestead vicinity.

     Jun 8 - Mrs Rockne and children visit the scene of the plane crash in the S. H. Baker pasture southwest of Bazaar.

     A tennis tournament, the first for all Chase county, is being planned.

     The Standard Oil Company now has two delivery trucks in the county. Dale Trayer is the new truckman on the second truck.

     Jun 15 - Mrs John Glanville is killed in an automobile accident. The three daughters, Mrs Floyd Dexter, Miss Mae Glanville and Miss Mary Glanville, were all injured.

     A Fourth of July celebration is being planned at Elk this year.

     Ross Hager of this city is to be the local manager of the Burger-Bowman-Matthews Lumber Co. at Matfield Green.

     Jun 22 - A wedding which has come as a pleasant surprise to their friends was that of Mr. Charles Humphrey, of this city, and Miss Ethel Kline of Elmdale.

     The painting of the City’s big water standpipe on the city school campus is being done by Fred Wagoner, Jake Dye, and “Slim” Cox.

     Jul 6 - Cottonwood river reaches flood stage.

     A big family gathering enjoyed the Fourth of July on the Brant ranch on Southfork.

     The County is giving temporary employment to about 75 men mainly as road workers. The men are allowed 25 cents per hour.

     Jul 20 - The City is putting in aluminum traffic parking markers.

     Jul 27 - The installing of the new steam heating plant in the grade school building at Elmdale will soon be completed.

     Aug 3 - This community was shocked to hear of the death of G. B. “Bunk” Howard. He shot himself with a 12 - gauge shotgun. Mr. Howard had been in poor health and had worried for months over business affairs.

     The race track at Swope Park has been graded and is in good shape for the upcoming fair.
