     Aug 3 1932 - Mr. & Mrs Tom Mushrush of Matfield Green have a new baby girl, named Martha Caroline.


     Aug 10 - The large two-story stone farm house belonging to Miss Anna Becker on Rock creek, was destroyed by fire. The Becker house was built 52 years ago. Mr. & Mrs Wm. Selves and children lived on the farm with Miss Becker.


     Aug l - Organized Chase County Federal Relief Board.


     Mr. & Mrs John H. Longshore who live on the Henry Schrumpf’s farm south of this city are the parents of twin girls. This is the third set of twins born to Mr. & Mrs Longshore.


     Aug 24 - Joe Morozzo buys the R. L. Shimp Peoples Cash Grocery Store in this city.


     Aug 31 - The 30th School year opens at the Chase County Community High School.


     C. A. Yeomans is the principal.


     George L. Clothier of Cedar Creek dies.


     10 cent shows will start at the Uptown Theatre in Strong City on Monday and Tuesday weekly.


     Sep 7 - Anna Margaret Becker daughter of Valentine and Margaret Becker passed away at the age of 78. She is survived by her nephew, Lewis Wheeler, her niece, Emily Selves and a sister Mrs Mary L. Schwilling. Miss Becker never married.


     Sep 21 - Mr. & Mrs W. P. Evans, of this city, have been married 60 years.


     A women's restroom will be erected at the Fair Grounds at Swope Park.


     Oct 5 - J. I. Schembera has opened a fruit store in the little building of Al Ryan on the west side of Cottonwood Avenue just north of the Bank Hotel.


     Oct 12 - Big free wedding comes off at the fair. Abe Heitsman and Della Marie Fink were the young groom and bride. The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs Walter Fink who for many years lived on Fox Creek. The bride and groom are at the present making their home on the farm of Mrs Pearl I. Pennington on Rock Creek, where Abe is working.


     The fair will almost pay out this year.

     Oct 19 - Eugene Hynson buys the Ideal Cleaning Shop of this city.


     A box, pie, and candy supper at the Canaan school house. Everybody come. Julia Giger, teacher.


     Oct 26 - Dr. W. A. Browne, local veternarian, is leaving Cottonwood Falls and locating in Emporia.


     Nov 2 - T. R. Wells, is the Republican candidate for the State Legislature from Chase County.


     R. L. Albin, of Saffordville won the county championship in the corn husking contest which was held on the Lewis farm two miles east of Strong City. Curt Benninghoven finished fifth and Jack Spain, Sixth.
