     Aug 16 1933 - Miss Pearl Young became the bride of Mr. George McCallum of Elmdale. George is engaged in farming and trucking.


     Aug 23 - Many attend 4-H Clubs achievement day picnic at Swope Park.


     Aug 30 - Donald Lancaster will be the manager of the Economy Meat Market in Strong City. He will be assisted by Ed Hedrick.


     Sep 6 - Three sets of twins in Chase County Community High School this year, Charles & Vern Maybell, Ernest & Earl Howard and Thelma & Velma Herr.


     The second week of revival meetings here are bringing more interest and larger crowds.


     The exterior painting of the courthouse will he done by Wm. Bennett, Roy Cox, and Charles Hager who the commissioners hired after all bids were turned down.


     Sep 20 - A pretty wedding which took place at the St. Anthony’s Church in Strong City was that of Gertrude Stubenhofer and Irving Rettiger, both of Strong City. Both were born and raised in Chase County and have been sweethearts for 11 years.


     Harry Loney resigns as marshal of Cottonwood Falls.


     Sep 27 - Mr. & Mrs John Drummond, of Strong City celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary at their home.


     There are several cases of undulant fever in this city. It may be caused by several things, one of which is impure milk.


     The first issue of “The Optimist” publication of the Chase County Community High School made its appearance.


     Oct 4 - Deaths; Wm. Brown, Sr.; Mrs John Barrett; Elvin Ballew; & Chas. E. Davis.


     Oct 11 - Chase County has new County Treasurer, Mrs Blanche Finley.


     John Stubenhofer resident of Chase County for the past 57 years dies at his home in Strong City.


     Clarence May, of Elmdale, is the new operator for the Skelly Co. at the North Side Garage in Strong City. He takes the place of Frank Roberts.


     In the gaited horse contest at the fair, winners were; 1st. place, McKittrick; 2nd to Miss Goad; and 3rd to Dr. A. E. Titus. Peggy Miller won the girls pony race.


     County Attorney, H. C. O’Reilly and wife, of Strong City, are the parents of a baby son.


     The Chase County Board of Commissioners designated all 6 banks of the county as depositories for county funds.


     Oct 18 - The death of James Lind occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs Carl O’Daniel at Saffordville.


     Charles H. Beach, of Strong City was the successful bidder on the mail carrying job between Strong City and this city.
