     Oct 31 1945 - Strong Rural High SchooI wins 6 - man football game from Elmdale, 26 to 8.


     Nov 7 - Betty Osborn and Phil Pinkston were married in Topeka.


     Nov 14 - Al Bandy, a 155 - pound Kansas State halfback, from Cottonwood Falls, is a thrill maker for football fans.


     Nov 21 - The Chase County War Price & Rationing Board closed its door.


     Mr. & Mrs Paul Ayers of Bazaar, have a new daughter, named Jane Ellen.


     Dec 5 - Mr. & Mrs W. S. Harvey of Saffordville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a big family dinner.


     Dec 12 - Harris Stewart, Saffordville is elected as the 1946 Farm Bureau president.


     Dec 19 - Kittie L Sharp, only daughter of John and Carrie Sharp, departed this life. Her husband was N. E. Galentine.


     Dec 26 - Fire destroys the Lem Byram three story home.


     “Sherd” Morris passes away. His wife's former name was Lulua Selves.


     Miss Ruea Pendergraft and Mr. Richard L. Thurston are wed in the bride’s parents home. The bride wore a white wool dress and carried a bouquet of red rosebuds, her favorite flower.


     Jan 2 1946 - Tom Mercer died on New Years Day at his home in Cottonwood Falls. He was known as “Uncle Tom” by many.


     Jan 23 - Born at the Stubenhofer home in Strong City, to Mr. & Mrs Howard Roberts, a daughter, who has been named Terry Lou.


     Bingo and cake walk given by the Hymer Community.


     Jan 30 - Betty Lu McCabe and Pfc. Leo Yette, Jr. are wed in Biloxi, Miss.


     Feb 6 - Clements wins county 1946 basketball title.


     Feb 13 - Good pasture signing for $14.00 this season.


     Feb 20 - Robert Emmett Norton passed away at the Norton home near Bazaar. Mr. Norton was one of the Norton Brothers who had spent their lives making the Norton Ranch and method of handling cattle very well known from here to the lower end of Texas.


     Mar 6 - The Sidlers of Strong City have rented the dairy equipment formerly known as the Hillside Dairy to the Quality Dairy of Emporia.


     Mar 13 - The French bride of Leslie Potter arrived from her home in France.


     A car accident takes the life of 17 year old Roy Osborn, son of Harvey and Ethel Osborn. Their other son Jack was also killed in a car accident in 1940.


     Mar 20 - Mr. & Mrs James McLinden of Cedar Point, are the proud parents of a girl, named Patricia Kathleen.


     Apr 10 - Miss Juanita Frey, became the bride of Mr. George Lee Gibb.


     Apr 24 - High schools of Chase County will hold a county track meet this spring after a laspe of four years for the event.


     May 8 - Services are held for Orissa Pendergraft.
