     Sep 18 1946 - Many improvements in Strong City’s stores with several stores involved, Kenneth Clark’s, Farm & Home Store, Sampson Grocery Store, The Bank Hotel and Lloyd Clark’s Barber Shop.

     After having served, the Cottonwood Falls Grade School for the past 27 years as janitor, Owen Jones has turned his duties over to Floyd Whitford.

     Oct 2 - R. D. Bennett is the new postmaster of Cottonwood Falls.

     Miss Wilma Little and Dale Martin are united in marriage.

     Oct 8 - Bruce DeWeese of Strong City buys the Remy Tin Shop in Cottowood Falls.

     Oct 16 - Funeral services are held for Mrs Fred Romigh.

     Oct 23 - Clyde Littler has purchased about 250 acres of the former Sam Stauffer place at Hymer.

     Nov 6 - Wallace Evans of Strong City has purchased the Phil Campbell home in Cottonwood Falls. This beautiful home was built by the late J. F. Kirk.

     Nov 13 - David K. Carter, died from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Wichita.

     Chase County has three Armistice Day babies: Mr. & Mrs Leslie Frye, a son; Mr & Mrs Dean Heathman, a son; and Mr. & Mrs Kenneth Roberson, a son.

     Nov 20 - Robert Brash Temple burns it’s mortgage.

     Dec 4 - Miss Peggy Miller, daughter of Mr. & Mrs G. M. Miller, of Cottonwood Falls and Mr. T. G. Stephenson of Kansas City, Missouri were united in marriage

     Dec 18 - Cy Wadsworth, former postmaster of Cottonwood Falls has passed away.

     Dec 23 - Irving Myers heads county Red Cross.

     Jan 8 1947 - 28˝ below zero here in Chase County.

     L. E. Croy has bought the furniture store here from Ernest McKenzie.

     Clyde Raymond Park of Clements, died at St. Mary’s Hospital at Emporia.

     Mrs Henry Errett who came to Chase County 57 years ago has passed away.

     Jan 22 - Lloyd Clark has sold his pool hall in Strong City to Claude and Leslie McDonald.

     Jan 29 - Chase County loses three early day pioneers, John Frew, Guy Johnson, and Harman A. Baker.

     Huffman Hilton sold his year - old growing photo studio to R. R. “Bob” Riggs of this city.

     Feb 12 - The Clements community lost another of their pioneers, with the passing of H. B. (Dick) Jackson. He was married to the former Josephine Ice in 1885.
