Apr 19 - Irving Myers started his thirty - first year on his rural route out of Cottonwood Falls.

Charles C. Roniger, of the Elmdale community has passed away. Also Wm.
T. Rollins of rural Cottonwood Falls.

Apr 26 - Elmdale high wins regional track meet. First place winners for Chase
County were: Bob Passmore of Elmdale in the 220 dash; Newell Johnson of
Matfield Green in the shot put and pole vault and the Elmdale mile relay;
Burton Buchman, Bill Halley, Bob Passmore and Junior Bastin, Jim Stubenhofer of Elmdale set a new record in the 880 yard dash.

May 31 - Miss Berniece Steadman and Harold Odle are wed at the home of Rev. Clarence L. Harder in Cottonwood Falls.

Jun 14 - Homecoming and rededication of the Methodist church at Cottonwood Falls.

Jun 21 - Mr. & Mrs C. 0. Yoakem of Homestead celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at their home. For 49 of their 50 years of married life,
Mr. & Mrs Yoakem have lived on the same farm. They raised nine children:
Percy, Lloyd, Elmo, Cecil, Maurice Yoakem and Mrs Howard Parks, Mrs
Kent Potter, and Mrs Paul Scharenberg.
