牋牋 Apr 19 - Irving Myers started his thirty - first year on his rural route out of Cottonwood Falls.

牋牋 Charles C. Roniger, of the Elmdale community has passed away. Also Wm. T. Rollins of rural Cottonwood Falls.

牋牋 Apr 26 - Elmdale high wins regional track meet. First place winners for Chase County were: Bob Passmore of Elmdale in the 220 dash; Newell Johnson of Matfield Green in the shot put and pole vault and the Elmdale mile relay; Burton Buchman, Bill Halley, Bob Passmore and Junior Bastin, Jim Stubenhofer of Elmdale set a new record in the 880 yard dash.

牋牋 May 17 - John Short passes away in the Halstead hospital.

牋牋 Mr. & Mrs Geo. Gibb of Cottonwood Falls have a new baby daughter, Deanne Lee.

牋牋 Fern DeWitt has been chosen as representative to the Sunfllower Girls State.

牋牋 Mr. & Mrs Elmo Starkey have a new baby girl, named Gayle.

牋牋 May 31 - Miss Berniece Steadman and Harold Odle are wed at the home of Rev. Clarence L. Harder in Cottonwood Falls.

牋牋 Jun 14 - Homecoming and rededication of the Methodist church at Cottonwood Falls.

牋牋 Jun 21 - Mr. & Mrs C. 0. Yoakem of Homestead celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home. For 49 of their 50 years of married life, Mr. & Mrs Yoakem have lived on the same farm. They raised nine children: Percy, Lloyd, Elmo, Cecil, Maurice Yoakem and Mrs Howard Parks, Mrs Kent Potter, and Mrs Paul Scharenberg.

牋牋 Births: Mr. & Mrs Bert Brickell, a son, Hays Albert; and Mr. & Mrs Keith Stout, a daughter, Margaret Irene.

牋牋 Aug 2 - Jalopie racers at the Lyon Co. Fair from Chase County were: J. C. Morgan of Cedar Point; J. C. McNee; and Dale Worley of Cottonwood Falls.

牋牋 Aug 9 - The annual Wonsevu school picnic is held.

牋牋 Miss Eunice Irene Wyatt becomes the bride of Marion E. Ludwig at the Presbyterian church at Clements.

牋牋 Russell Fink plans to re-enlist in the Merchant Marines.

牋牋 Aug 16 - Mr. Pierson buys the Matti home ranch.
