     Aug 23 1950 - After eighteen years the Peoples Store is closing.


     Sep 6 - Miss Beverly Adele Gibb and Marvin Matti were wed at Newton.


     Mr. & Mrs Frank Gaddie of Bazaar are the parents of a son, named Francis Marion - he has two sister, Sylvia and Amy Lou.


     The beautiful new addition of the Chase County Community High School has just been completed.


     Sep 13 - Mr. & Mrs Drew Narramore will be managers of the Bank Hotel in Strong City.


     Sep 20 - George H. McClellan, a pioneer farmer and stockman of Bazaar has expired.


     Sep 27 - Charles C. Clark, a lawyer of Cottonwood Falls was found dead from a heart attack.


     Mr. & Mrs. Doug Gibb of Elmdale have a new son and Mr. & Mrs Gilbert Mott of Cottonwood Falls have adopted a daughter, Mary Jane.


     Oct 4 - Carl Ballweg is appointed as County Attorney.


     Nov 1 - Deaths: Mrs B. A. Herman, W. E. Martin, Mrs Lucy Selves, Mrs Iowa Elizabeth Alford and Mrs George P. Avery.


     Nov 8 - Republicans win all but one office here.


     Births: Mr. & Mrs Glendon Barrett are the parents of a girl, named Glenda Marie; Mr. & Mrs Harold Odle, a son, named Jerrold Dean; and Mr. & Mrs Lewis Ramsey, a son.


     Nov 15 - The Earl Cleeton’s north of Saffordville lose their home and contents in a fire.


     Elmdale ends an unbeaten season of football.


     Nov 22 - Mrs Harold Wiebrecht of Strong City passes away following a serious head operation.


     Dec 6 - Mr. & Mrs George Lambert of Saffordville purchase the Bank Hotel at Strong City.


     Chase County lost one of its pioneers with the death of John B. Lewis, the third son of Mahlon & Rhoda Lewis.


     Albert Nienstedt a farmer of the Elk community has passed away, and John B. Sanders of Strong City.


     Dec 13 - Mr. & Mrs Gerald Talkington have a new baby boy, named Roger Lee.


     Dec 27 - Harry Hays, pioneer of Bazaar has passed away.


     Miss Oma Lou Frey became the bride of Robert R. Mushrush in the Methodist church in Cottonwood Falls. They are both attending college in Manhattan and are seniors.


     Jan 3 1951 - Chase County is justly proud of its record for 1950 with no fatal highway accidents.


     Jan 10 - E. P. Norton, prominent rancher of Bazaar has passed away. The Son of the late Wm. & Victoria Norton and was born on the Norton Ranch.


     Jan 17 - C. C. Deering of the Homestead community passed away.


     Jan 24 - Mary Burnett of Cottonwood Falls has enlisted in the WACS.
