     Jun 6 1951 - The current issue of the Kansas Stockman carries a front cover with Walter and Dudley Pinkston shown.


     Pascal Roniger of Elmdale has been called to report to duty in the Navy at Jacksonville, North Carolina.


     Jun 27 - Margaret Breese Replogle belonged to a pioneer family. Her father S. A. Breese came to Chase County in 1858. She married E. D. Replogle in 1892. With her passing she will be sadly missed.


     Miss Jo Ann Gordon of Strong City and Ronald Lee Brammell of Elmdale are wed. The couple will reside in Emporia.


     Jul 4 - Bottom hard hit by a flood.


     Jul 11 - 4th and worst flood in all history hit Chase County.


     Jul 18 - $250,000 flood damage to roads and bridges. Bill Brant flies errands of mercy during the flood.


     Service for Augustine Samuel Howard, a flood victim is held. His wife Betty and a small daughter, Vicky survive.


     Jul 25 - The Henry Roglers of Matfield Green celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary at the Matfield Green High School.


     Mrs. J. J. Cahoone died at the home of her sister, Mrs Effie Fillmore in Cottonwood Falls. Mrs Cahoone has spent her life in Chase Co.


     Mr. & Mrs James Bell Jr. of Cottonwood Falls have a third son, Joseph Edward.


     Elmdale's cheerful hero was George Dawson who put-putted all over town in Elmdale doing good deeds during the flood.


     Aug 15 - Mrs Ruea Thurston is the new fourth grade teacher, employed to teach at the city school.


     A baby girl was born to Mr. & Mrs Herbert L. Spain, of Strong City, Pamelea Lee; also a girl born to Mr. & Mrs John Odle of Clements, Linda Sue.


     Aug 22 - Mr. & Mrs James Scott purchase the house and office building of Mrs Janice McNee. The property is south of the Burnley Library. They will move their fender and body shop soon.


     Aug 29 - Funeral services were held for Harry Loney. His wife Lillian and two daughters survive.


     Sep 5 - The residence of Mr. & Mrs Karl Anderson, was moved from North of the river, to its new location southeast of Cottonwood Falls on highway 13. Their greenhouse had been moved earlier.


     Sep 12 - New law prohibits passing a school bus.


     A daughter was born to Mr. & Mrs Jewell Swift, of Matfiled Green.


     A group of civic minded women met with the Cottonwood Falls City Council to protest using wooden whiteway poles. They asked if steel ones could be used. Mrs Loretta Wilcox was their spokesman.


     Sep 19 - Mr. & Mrs Keith Gibb of Elmdale, have a new son, Stanley Dale and Mr. & Mrs Wayne Parks of Clements, a girl, Esta Lee.
