     Jan 2 1952 - Chase County towns and residents are recovering from worst flood in history.


     Finley H. Lambert, 91, dies at his home in Strong City.


     Due to failing health of Titus Daub, the Daub Grocery in Strong City will be closed.


     John Fisher, a long time resident of Cedar Point and Bazaar died at his home near Bazaar.


     Freddie Mae Hinkle and Robert James Way, both of Cottonwood Falls are united in marriage.


     Jan 9 - Rosa May Dean of Clements and Flora Arnold of Cottonwood Falls have passed away.


     Jan 16 - Mrs C. A. Pretzer and grandson Terry Pretzer are hospitalized following a car accident.


     Carol Remy is the winner of the annual 4-H cherry pie baking contest.


     Jan 23 - Pfc Ivan L. Cooper of Cottonwood Falls, has recently entered the Airplane & Engine Mechanic’s School at Sheppard Air Force Base, in Texas.


     Harry Schwilling, James Dexter, Charles Armagost of Cottonwood Falls & Junior Parks of Saffordville enlisted in the Air Corps and are stationed in Texas.


     Jan 30 - Pvt. Don Dick writes to his mother from Camp Drake in Japan.


     Births: Mr. & Mrs Lloyd Thompson of Cedar Point, a girl; Mr. & Mrs Sid Cahoone of Cottonwood Falls, a girl, named Terry Jo; and Mr. & Mrs John Burton, Cottonwood Falls, a boy, named Vaden Leroy.


     Feb 6 - Fred Austin, Jr. has leased the Sicelly Oil Station in Cottonwood Falls.


     Mr. & Mrs John Selves of Saffordville Celebrate their Golden Anniversary.


     Feb 13 - Mrs Harry Starkey of Elmdale dies at the home of her son Fredrick Starkey.


     Prentice S. Thurston, 77, of Elmdale passes away.


     Feb 20 - Mr. & Mrs James B. McCabe, are honored on their 60th wedding anniversary.


     Feb 27 - T. R. Wells of Elmdale resigns after ten years on the draft board.


     Fred Nevitt will open a blacksmith and machine shop in Cottonwood Falls directly back of the Gibb Grocery. He comes from Saffordville.


     Mar 5 - Heavy snow and near blizzard hit this area.


     Mr. & Mrs Harold Odle of Clements have a new seven pound six ounce boy, named Jack Lee.


     Movie Uptown in Strong City & Lyric in Cottonwood Falls , “Jim Thorpe-All American”.


     Mar 12 - The Strong City Indians are the regional basketball champion and placing second was the Elmdale Cougars.


     Carl Barr of Diamond Springs dies suddenly.
