Mar 19 1952 - “Tad” Smith, & Henry Schrumpf, have passed away.
Mr. & Mrs Drew Narramore, “Drew & Bea” have opened a new store in Elmdale, which will be known as the Narramore Mercantile Store.
Mar 26 - Mrs Sarah Whetherholt of Cottonwood Falls passes away.
Mr. & Mrs Ed Brandley are honored on their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Apr 4 - Mathias I.G.A. store into new location in the building owned by Wallace J. Evans. Don Robinson is the manager.
Apr 9 - A plow terracing demonstration will be held on the Lee Potter farm near Saffordville.
Apr 23 - Drs. Lancaster and Hinden are being honored for half a century each, serving the Chase County Community.
The E. B. Andrews farm home east of Cottonwood Falls was completely destroyed by fire.
May 7 - Untimely death of Ted Boes occurs. He was 45 and leaves a wife, Mary Louise and five daughters all of the home.
Chase County Community High School placed second in the invitational track meet held at Council Grove.
Members of the Strong City Rural High School to graduate are; Junior
Ramsey, Virginia Robinson, James Monroe, Joe Gamer, Fred Fussell, Billy
Haden, David Rettiger and Richard Bullock.
May21 - Frank F. Deering of the Homestead Community dies of a heart attack.
Wayne Childs retains pace set by sisters with fine school record. Leola,
1934, Salutatian, Elizabeth, 1936, Valedictorian, Helen did the same in
1941 and now Wayne the class of 1952, Valedictorian. They all graduated
at the Elmdale High School and are the children of Mr. & Mrs Chauncey
Childs.
May 28 - Mr. & Mrs Leslie 0. Pierce are the new owners of the Strong City Rexall Store. Mrs Ruth Walch was the seller, who has operated the store for two and one-half years.
Jun 4 - W. R. Sayre, pioneer of Chase County dies. He married Rosa Griffith in 1894, Four children were born.
Jun 11 - The 15th annual rodeo was a big success.
Mr & Mrs Riley Cahoone (Donna Fear) were married on May 30th at Emporia.
Jun 18 - Elmer A. Slabaugh, Albert H. Ramsey and Mrs C. N. Kogeboehn have passed away.
Clements High School Seniors traveled in 7 states and Old Mexico. They were:
Minnie Beth Dawson, Patricia Magathan, Nina Merrifield, Charlene Stahl,
Gayland Park, Howard Harbison, Delano O’Dell sponsored by Mr. & Mrs
Paul Stephenson.
Jun 25 - Births: Mr. & Mrs Philip Blender of Saffordville, a girl, Sharon Kay; Lt & Mrs Marvin Dull, a daughter, Leola Sue.
