Mar 11 1953 - Thomas H. Mushrush dies at his home of a heart attack. He leaves a wife, Frances and five children.
Mar 18 - Mrs Wm. S. Laughridge who was a resident the greater part of her life has passed away.
Toledo girl selected as exchange student. Barbara Buffington will spend three or four months on a farm in Japan.

Mr. & Mrs Ted Yoakem of Cedar Point will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

Apr 8 - W. B. Hilton, 86, of Cottonwood Falls passed away and also Christopher Ambler.
Mr. & Mrs Keith Gibb of Elmdale, have a new daughter, Susan Agnes born at the Stubenhofer home.

Apr 22 - James Gammell son of Mr. & Mrs George Gammell, rural Cottonwood Falls, to get State Farmer Degree.
George Kyle has the contract for an 8-unit motel and dwelling to be built on new highway 50 at Strong City.
David Rettiger of Strong City is on the college honor roll for the 3rd period at St. Benedict’s at Atchison.
Apr 29 - Rufus Ice, rural mail carrier out of Cedar Point died suddenly of a heart attack.
Mrs Luther Sayre passed away at her home near Wonsevu. Her maiden name was Mary Jane McKittrick.
Sgt. Harold Trayer is released from the Army at Camp Carson, Colorado.
May 6 - Jessie Miser and Ruth Hollenback, are married on Easter sunday.
May 13 - Barbara Buffington., Saffordville has received a $75 scholarship to Kansas State College.
Mrs Emma (Wood) Eastman, 97, dies in her Emporia home. She and Daniel
W Eastman were married in 1876.
May 2 - Geo. W. Starkey, who has lived his entire life in Chase County passed away; also Mrs R. A. Stephenson.
