     May 20 1953 - Anna Lee Blount of Cottonwood Falls and Wm. Eugene Meyers, of Emporia are wed.

     Married: Clara Jo Baker and Wm. Talkington, both of Matfield Green.

     Kindergarten to open in Cottonwood Falls thn June 1st. under the supervision of Mrs Finley Lambert.

     May 27 - Death comes suddenly to C R. Spitler, a farmer in the Wonsevu vicinity.

     Dudley Pinkston of rural Cottonwood Falls purchased an 80 acre farm north of Bazaar.

     Jun 3 - A population decline for Chase County is 108 during the past year.

     Project under way to light up the courthouse.

     Bonnie Lee McCabe, student nurse at Newman Memorial Hospital, Emporia, is spending time at Camp Wood where she is serving as camp nurse.

     Shirley Holmberg of Strong City and Carvel Oldham of Cottonwood Falls are united in marriage.

     Jun 10 - Water shortage warning to Cottonwood Falls residents.

     Dr. H. M. Wilcox moved into his new dental office at the corner of Broadway and Main street.

     Jun 17 - Albert Rogler, 82, passed away.

     Also Mrs Geo. (Helen) Drummond of Cottonwood Falls has passed away.

     Mr. & Mrs Evan Koger of Cottonwood Falls are the parents of a daughter, Jane Beedle.

     Mary Lou Davis of Elmdale and Burton L. Buchman are wed at the bride’s parents home.

     Jun 24 - Mrs Bill Baker, 42, of the Homestead vicinity passes away.

     Dance - Friday, July 3 - Municipal Building - Music by Rhythm Merchants - Admission 50 cents per person.

     Jul 8 - Every effort being made to alleviate critical water shortage in Cottonwood Falls.

     The new motel along new 50S Highway route in Strong City is completed.

     Mrs Ida Vinson starts her 9th term as County Superintendent.

     Jul 15 - Six Chase Co. youths leave on trip to National Jamboree near Los Angles, Calif. They are: Lanny Deering, Jim Gammell, Charles Atkins, and Ron Rollins of Cottonwood Falls, and Billy Wood, of Strong City. They were accompanied by Rev. C. L. Harder.

     Jul 22 - Roy Norton, of Bazaar, pioneer Chase County rancher, passed away at the Norton ranch home.

     Mr. & Mrs Edwin Fink, of rural Cottonwood Falls, are the parents of a six pound twelve ounce son, James Lewis. He was born in the Stubenhofer home.

     Jul 29 - Burley Starks elected Falls Legion Post Head.
