     Feb 2 1955 - Mrs Temple Atkins holds piano recital in her home.


     Three local girls among Newman nurses capped are: Lucille Yoakem, Cottonwood Falls;Pauline Palacio, Bazaar; and Carol Remy, Strong City.


     Feb 9 - Heart attack claims life of James Bell, Sr.


     Feb 23 - Heart ailment claims life of Paul Bennett of Strong City.


     Church choirs will present Easter Cantata.


     Mar 2 - The grade school tourney winner is Cedar Point.


     Mr. & Mrs Evan Koger, Cottonwood Falls have a new son, Edward Robbins.


     Mar 9 - Mrs Fidel Ybarra, 49, and the mother of ten children of Bazaar, has passed away. Also Mrs Mae Hager of Cottonwood Falls.


     Mar 16 - C. A. Blackburn resigns as Probate Judge after 14 years, due to his health.


     Mar 23 - Marie Bray is sworn in as Probate Judge.


     The Chase County State Lake is completed.


     Barbara Buffington and Keith Donelson both of Saffordville are married.


     Mar 30 - Strong City Merchants plan stag for farmers.


     Apr 6 - John Sauble of Cedar Point dies also Mrs Rebecca Gibson of Clements.


     Apr 20 - John Samples of Matfield Green, retired farmer has passed away.


     Gary Scott sets new school record in hurdles.


     Hugh. O’Reilly of Strong City steals amateur night at Saint Benedict’s college where he is a freshman. He sang ”Mother Machree” and has a high tenor voice.


     Apr 27 - James McCabe 72, of Elmdale a lifelong resident of Chase County dies. A wife, Verna, seven daughters, and two sons survive.


     Mr. & Mrs Ernest Davis, Strong City have a new baby girl, Gayle Frances.


     May 4 - Death takes place of a well known farmer and rancher of Peyton Creek, John C. Wilson


     The old county shop is sold to George L. Imthurn for $3,250.55.


     Mason Blackmore is the City Marshal of Strong City.


     May 11 - No adverse reactions from 210 polio shots given has occurred.


     May 18 - Marvin Link of Cedar Point has been selected to attend the US Air Force Academy.


     May 25 - Fire destroys the Floyd Eidman home at Kahola.


     Strong City getting new 30-pole white way.


     Evan Koger is the new Lions Club President.


     Carol Dicke of Cottonwood Falls was honored as Queen of Job’s Daughters.


     Jun 1 - Harold Kipling Wells, of Elmdale to receive his law degree from Washburn University at Topeka.


     The Easter Heathman’s farm home is destroyed after lightning hits.


     Jun 8 - Heart attack claims life of L. A. Bourland of Cottonwood Falls.
