     Jun 15 1955 - A storm warning system has been installed at Cottonwood Falls.


     Ad - 1 pound coffee, 79 cents at Way’s Food Store.


     Jun 22 - Chase County little league baseball program started.


     Population increase of 79 in county last year. Total for county 4,803.


     Jul 6 - Lawrence Spencer sells one of Chase county’s finest ranches this week to G. R. Byrd and L. H. Rumsey.


     Jul 20 -Orville Giger, Elmdale and Mrs Mate M. Bell, Cottonwood Falls have passed away.


     Jul 27 - The Exchange National Bank has been remodeled. F. W. Huth was the contractor for the work.


     Mr. & Mrs Vernon Scott of Cottonwood Falls have a new baby girl, named Nancy Marie.


     Aug -3 - Improvement project for the Cottonwood Falls Municipal building. This will be in the kitchen area.


     Sally Ann Austin Cottonwood Falls is on the President’s honor roll at Emporia State Teachers College.


     Aug 10 - Lt. Carvel C. Oldham, of Cottonwood Falls receives his pilots’ wings in the US Air Force at San Angelo, Tx.


     Carol Ann Barrett and J. R. Wilson are wed in Cottonwood Falls.


     Aug 17 - Rachel Sayre of Cottonwood Falls and Norris Rees are wed. They will be at home on the Rees Fruit Farm at Topeka.


     Aug 31 - Mrs Alice Gamer, 92, passed away at her Cottonwood Falls home. She was the daughter of Wm. & Delilah Romigh, and married Edward J. Gamer of Diamond creek in 1891. They ran the Palace Hotel in Elmdale for more than fifty years.


     Mr. & Mrs Edgar Cooper, Saffordville have a brand new girl named Lubeth.


     Miss Minnie Norton, of Bazaar and a member of a prominent pioneer family passed away. She taught school thirty years and all in Chase county.


     St. Anthony’s school has between 35 and 40 pupils enrolled for the coming term.


     Sep 14 - Mr. & Mrs Bill Landsbury, Cottonwood Falls are the parents of a son, John Dennis.


     Jo Ann Weaver and John Archer both of Cottonwood Falls are united in marriage.


     Sep 21 - Fire destroys the barn at B. B. Rufener's of rural Cottonwood Falls and all its contents.


     Sep 28 - Courthouse clock dedication planned for Oct. 15th.


     Rains bring definite break in long drouth.


     Mr. & Mrs C. P. Caress celebrate Golden wedding anniversary at their home near Clements.


     Oct 12 - Cottonwood Falls fire station is remodeled.


     Anderson home and greenhouse now has a new home after the devasting flood of 1951
