     Oct 19 1955 - Motorcycle races will be held at Swope Park.


     The open house at Matfield Green Grade School for the new addition of the school gym was attended by a large crowd.


     Wilbur Talkington was recently promoted to specialist third class while serving with the 4th. Infantry Division in Germany.


     Oct 26 - Approval received to continue polio vaccine.


     Nov 2 - C. D. Broiles, 72, of Cottonwood Falls dies unexpectedly following an operation.


     Linda Trayer and Charles Armagost are wed.


     Nov 9 - Bookings for City the building are now handled by the City Clerk.


     Births: Mr. & Mrs Fidel Ybarra, Cottonwood Falls have a new baby girl, Linda Sue; & Mr. & Mrs Glendon Barrett, a boy, James Burton.


     Elaine Boes chosen as Queen of the Chase County High School Homecoming.


     Nov 23 - Work will start on fencing of entire airport grounds and other projects are planned.


     Residents of Cottonwood Falls are urged to get their house numbers placed just as soon as possible.


     New machine shed is added at the county shop.


     11-30- Sgt Ivan Cooper completed four years of service in the Air Force and received his discharge at the Smoky Hill Air Base, Salina, Kansas.


     Senator Graham H. Grimwood of Cedar Point died of a heart attack. Addie Deering also passed away.


     Faye DeWitt and Dudley Pinkston, both of Cottonwood Falls are married at Emporia.


     Dec 7 - Mr. & Mrs James W. O’Daniel, Cottonwood Falls have a new son, Jay William.


     John McClellan, of Bazaar, will retire from the Internal Revenue Service after 18 years.


     Carol Jean Remy and Charles Klamm are wed at a home wedding.


     Dec 14 - Edward B. Thurston, 53, Elmdale, passed away and Mrs Elcy Hensley, 86, of Strong City has died.


     Marilyn Matti is new Jobs Daughter Queen.


     Free show at Uptown Theatre, in Strong City.


     Former resident dies in Topeka at age of 81, Miss Lizzie Collett was born at Elk where her parents settled and founded the village.


     Dec 21 - Carol Jean Dicke and Floyd W. Dexter, Jr. both of Cottonwood Falls are united in marriage at the Grace Lutheran Church at Strong City.


     Dec 28 - Wayne Rogler of Matfield Green is named to fill State Senate vacancy.


     George A. Hallam of Cottonwood Falls dies suddenly.


     Joe Evans is on furlough from Stuttgart, Germany. He will return for another year.
