     Jan 11 1956 - Jesse Miser elected Cattlemen’s Association head.


     Charles Hager of Cottonwood Falls sells local dray line to J. C. Morgan of Strong City.


     Jan 18 - March of dimes benefit dance at Municipal Building, music by Rhythm Merchants Band. Admission $1.00 per person.


     Jan 25 - Saturday night closing for Cottonwood Falls stores.


     The Chase County Choral Society is organized.


     Mr. & Mrs David Mercer, of Cedar Point have a new son.


     Turnpike will build cattle loading chutes and catch pens in Chase and Butler Counties.


     Feb 1 - George M. Stubenhofer of Strong City succumbs unexpectedly.


     Soil Conservation awards go to Pat Sauble of Cedar Point and Jim Lind, Saffordville.


     Ruby Norton of Cottonwood Falls and Charles Robert Spain of Strong City are wed.


     Feb 8 - Mrs Alfred Hawkins dies after a long illness.


     Bounties are paid on 340 coyotes in Chase County in 1955.


     Doris Marie Bray and LeRoy Archer, both of Cottonwood Falls are married by the bride’s mother, Probate Judge Bray, in her office at the courthouse.


     Feb 15 - Affirmative vote to adopt preliminary building plans for a new Presbyterian church gets large majority.


     Charles A. Lutt, 82, well known farmer and stockman of Cedar Point dies.


     Feb 22 - A baby girl is born to Mr. & Mrs Harold Gibb of Elmdale, named Nancy Ann.


     Feb 29 - Karl Masoner to head Chamber of Commerce.


     H. R. Hayden of Clements, will celebrate his 93rd. birthday.


     Claire Ward is the City Cleric in Cottonwood Falls.


     Mar 7 - Brief illness fatal to Mrs A. J. Seigle, 70, of Cottonwood Falls.


     Mar 14 - New modern design front for the Billing Pharmacy.


     Mar 21 - Helen & Buddy Anderson are the new owners of a Piper Tri-pacer four place plane.


     Apr 4 - Twisters sweep across Chase County injuring one woman and destroying property.


     Deaths: Mrs Les Stout, rural Cottonwood Falls & Mrs Lillie Petford.


     Apr 11 - Charles McCabe to get State Farm degree.


     Births: Mr. & Mrs Verne Fankhouser, Elmdale, a son, Derrell Dean; Mr. & Mrs Burton Buchman, Burdick, a daughter, Susan Kay; Mr. & Mrs Jr. Pritchett, Cottonwood Falls, a girl, Leta Faye; and Mr. & Mrs Gene Barr, Burdick, a girl.


     Apr 18 - Ernest Matti of Cottonwood Falls, is the new draft board member.


     Blanche Schwilling, postmaster at Bazaar, was awarded the “Postmaster of the year” honor.
