     April 25, 1901 -- The formal opening of Strong City's auditorium has come & gone. The Marshal band came and astonished the natives & departed.

     May 2, 1901 -- Gillett & Ferlet are putting up a hitching rack opposite their store.

     Born, to Mr. & Mrs P. P. Carmichael, on Peyton creek, a son.

     The Falls is now directly connected with Bazaar by telegraph. For several years the two stations have been connected by way of Saffordville & Strong City.

     Hilton is getting his fountain ready.

     M. C. Newton has resigned as under sheriff and A. T. Campbell of Elk, has been appointed to fill the vacancy.

     Rev. J. Alvan Sankey, who has been pastor of the Presbyterian Church, for several years, left for his new home in Peabody.

     J. M. Kerr has sold his lumber yard to A. M. West.

     May 9, 1901 -- Don't forget to see "Damon & Pythias" at Music Hall.

     Joe Arnold & Thorn Brandley arrested a Strong City man named Hurl, for violating the fish law.

     A fine young pacer, belonging to D. K. Cartter was ruined by plunging madly into a barbed wire fence.

     B. F. Whittan & Frank Parker were recommended for City Marshal and both were rejected. Thorn Brandley was then named and he was confirmed.

     May 16, 1901 -- Dr. Trowbridge has opened a dental office south of the postoffice.

     Mrs Mary Whitney, wife of S. E. Whitney of the 101 ranch has died.

     May 23, 1901 -- The fifteenth annual commencement of the Cottonwood high school will be held on May 31st. Admission 15 cents.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs S. G. Nichols of Matfield, a daughter & Mr. & Mrs Fred Coe, of Strong City, also a daughter.

     May 30, 1901 -- Mrs Louis Holmes gave a picnic at the Holmes ranch at Clements, for her Sunday School class.

     Died at the home of her daughter at Canaan, Mrs Mary E. Perry, age 67. Mrs Ollie Kidd, nee Harbour, wife of A. L. Kidd passed away at Cedar Point.
