Jul 24 - Sam Bruce, 85, of Bazaar vicinity dies at his home.
Mr. & Mrs Alfred Kohls, Lincolnville, have a new son, Alfred Wayne.
Cliff Roberts receives his flight instructor’s rating. He has been flying during his spare time the last ten years.
Jul 31 - Francis Towle, Chase County sheriff completes training school in Lawrence.
Fern DeWitt and George Blount, both of Cottonwood Falls, exchange vows in a home wedding.
Aug 7 - Spc. 3-C Wm. Parks of Saffordville was discharged at Fort Polk, La. after three years in the 13th Division of the U. S. Army.
Harvey J. “Hod” Johnson a Matfield Green farmer dies.
Mr. & Mrs Riley Cahoone, Cottonwood Falls are the parents of a son, James Douglas.
Aug 14 - “Harry” Schwilling 69, a retired Chase County farmers, passed away in Topeka.
Aug 21 - Neil Scott, 47, of Cottonwood Falls succumbs unexpectedly at home.
He leaves a wife, Lorene and two sons, Larry Neil and Ronald Austin.
The 37th annual Chase County Fair will be held next week for a 3-day run.
