     Apr 9 1958 - Trees are being planted at the Chase County Lake.


     4-16- White Harlan, of Matfield Green reaches the young age of 100 years.


     The Flint Hills 4-H Club was recently organized in Strong City and has a membership of 39, the second largest club in the county. Leaders are Mr. & Mrs Charles Klamm.


     Apr 23 - Select delegates for Boy’s State are Carl Palmer of Strong City and Garry Mott of Cottonwood Falls.


     Mrs Harriette McKinley, Cottonwood Falls and a native of Chase County passed away. Harriette was the daughter of John and Sylvia Doolittle and the widow of the late Dr. Charles McKinley.


     Annual Spring Beef show termed one of the finest with large attendance.


     The Cottonwood Falls Chamber will share the cost of a beach at the Chase County lake with Lions.


     May 7 - Depot at Cottonwood Falls will not be closed.


     Dr. Leo McKee fills vacancy on the Cottonwood Falls City Council.


     Karilyn Kay Stackley, El Dorado, became the bride of Vernon Albert Nienstedt of Cottonwood Falls.


     May 14 - Chase County census shows decline.


     Sylvia Gaddie is honored as Senior leader at Kansas State.


     Motorcycle speed races for novices will be held on the half-mile flat track at Swope Park.


     May 21 - Mrs Albert Rogler and Mrs Shelby Goad, of Cottonwood Falls have died.


     Annual poppy day to be observed.


     May 28 - Henry Meyer, 48, of Strong City dies of a bullet wound. Enos Shaft & Agnes Jeffrey have passed away.


     Mrs Virgiline Long buys business in this city from Mrs John McLinden.


     Jun 4 - Building contractor, Karl P. Anderson, of Cottonwood Falls succumbs.


     Chase County Attorney Wm. B. Pringle resigns.


     Jun 11 - Mrs Oscar Daub who has lived her entire life in Strong City passes away.


     Mr. & Mrs Bill Selves, Jr. rural Cottonwood Falls have a new daughter, Nancy.


     Ann Roniger breaks three Jr. Olympic records.


     Jun 18 - Jack Campbell is the new Superintendent for the City of Cottonwood Falls.


     Carl Ballweg is appointed as Chase County Attorney.


     Patricia Jane Fillmore, Strong City and James Truman McGraw of Cottonwood Falls are wed in the Methodist church in Strong City.


     Jul 2 - Saffordville man, Guy R. Crook, retired elevator operator and farmer dies at his home.
