     Jul 9 1958 - Mr. & Mrs Gene Barr, Burdick, have a new baby gir), Mary Margaret.


     Mary Jo Buffon and Morris Gail Eidman, both of Saffordville are wed.


     Jul 16 - Hugh O’Reilly is a featured attraction at the Folly Theatre in Kansas City, Mo.


     Mr. & Mrs Claude P. Grokett, Cottonwood Falls, are the parents of a son, Thomas Claude.


     Local post office is ready for rate hike.


     Jul 23 - E. H. Triemers of Strong City sell building after 38 years in the business to The Dixons.


     Aug 6 - Twin daughters are born to Mr. & Mrs Eddie Danford, Cottonwood Falls, named Glenda Kay & Brenda Gay.


     Aug 13 - Howard & Jimmy Stubenhofer buy the Plumbing & Electric Company from Wm. E. Brown.


     Fred Howard to head Rodeo Association.


     Aug 20 - Nancy Keller, will graduate from the Department of Nursing of the Kansas University School of Medicine.


     Otto M. Robert, 83, of Strong City passes away.


     Aug 27 - The courthouse is getting a new coat of paint to its trim and window frames for the first time since 1948.


     George Gammell dies unexpectedly, also Henry Bastin passes away.


     Sep 3 - Charles Graines is elected as the Chase County Historical Society's, President.


     Sep 17 - Mr. & Mrs Robert Armagost of Cottonwood Falls have a new baby girl named Lori Susan.


     Sep 2 - New facilities of picnic tables, and out-door toilet facilities are constructed at the State Lake.


     Mr. & Mrs Whitt Laughridge of Cottonwood Falls are the parents of a daughter, Connie Sue.


     Oct 1 - Mrs Harry Loney of Cottonwood Falls is taken in death.


     Oct 8 - Remodeling at Kieferle-Busselle Store.


     Oct 22 - Sheriff sells four properties on steps of courthouse.


     Norma Jeanne Brown, Cottonwood Falls and James Redick of Emporia are wed, at the home of the bride’s father, Lillard Brown.


     Oct 29 - The Flint Hills Cafe, Strong City owned & operated by Mr. & Mrs E. E. Jackson will close after nine years of business in the same location.


     Nov 5 - Charles Armagost, Democrat is elected as sheriff of Chase County.


     Nov 12 - Mr. & Mrs Don Evans, Cottonwood Falls, have a new daughter, Diane Maurine.


     Mrs Kenneth Hastings will head polio drive.


     Nov 19 - Mrs. T. R. Wells of Cottonwood Falls who has lived in Chase County for 88 years is taken in death.
