     Sep 28 1960 - Mr. & Mrs Ernest Carpenter celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary.


     Oct 5 - The Cottonwood Falls Municipal building is getting a new roof.


     Gordon Heathman of Bazaar a senior is a member of the varsity football team at the College of Emporia.


     Mrs John Crofoot, 78, had lived at Cedar Point many years, dies after a long illness.


     Oct 26 - A daughter, Sherri Lynn was born to Mr. & Mrs Frank Buffington, of Saffordville.


     Nov 2 - The Asa Pendegrafts celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary.


     Nov 9 - Farm accident proves fatal to Percy Yoakem, Wonsevu farmer after he suffers a broken neck.


     Nov 23 - All six rural high school districts in Chase County to vote Dec. 16th on consolidation.


     Dec 7 - School patrons holding sessions to discuss merger.


     Births: Mr. & Mrs Evan Koger, a girl, Kay Helen; & Mr. & Mrs Bruce Junior Swift, a girl, Tamyra Leigh.


     The John Burtons are “Farm Family” of the month.


     Complete dairy dispersal sale, 76 head high grade holsteins, Carl J. Dawson, of Clements.


     Dec 14 - Aviation Cadet Marvin R. Link of Cedar Point, has earned his pilot wings and an Air Force second lieutenant’s commission at Vance A.F.B. Enid, Ok.


     Arch F. Miller has been appointed as Administrator of the estate of Elizabeth F. Barbe.


     Dec 21 - Mrs J. H. McCracken, 87, of Bazaar has passed away and also Richard A. Stephenson of Clements.


     A definite “No” to consolidation of the six high schools in Chase County.


     The Baptists have moved to their new church at the corner of Sixth & Oak in Cottonwood Falls.


     Dec 28 - Two Cottonwood businesses change ownership, Park’s store sold to Robert Giger and Riggs Station to Harold Trayer.


     Local woman, Mrs Lester Bourland died unexpectedly at a Christmas day gathering.


     Coyotes are becoming quite a problem in this area.


     Jan 4 1961 - Above average moisture in Chase County for 1960.


     Deaths: Mrs H. C. (Susan) Wadsworth, Miss Bella Clements.


     Jan 11 - Nancy Miller is Jobs Daughters Honored Queen.


     Mrs Dorothy Crowell & Bobby L. Dick of Cottonwood Falls are united in marriage at the bride’s home.


     Jan 18 - T. G. Stephenson elected head of Cattlemen’s Association.
