     Jun 28 1961 - Mr. & Mrs Thomas E. McCabe of near Bazaar celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.


     C. E. Fear is the Cottonwood Falls City Marshal; Jack Campbell, Water & Street Superintendent, or Dean Jones according to your needs.


     Jul 5 - Mrs L. E. Waddell is to be the Roniger Museum attendant.


     Jul 12 - D. A. Macalpine retired farmer of Elmdale is taken in death.


     A barn dance will be held at the Don Horst farm near Elmdale


     Jul 19 - A new post office site for Cottonwood Falls is choosen.


     The Rainbow Garden Club hails its 30th. anniversary.


     Jul 26 - Local Babe Ruth teams in league tourney winner. All stars go to State in Olathe.


     Scout ball is now out of the red.


     Mr. & Mrs John Rufener, have a new baby boy, named Robin Bernhardt.


     Native Chase County pioneers mark 60 years of wedded life at same homesite The Henry Roglers of Matfield Green.


     Aug 2 - Pascal Roniger buys the Hymer school house. The purchase price being $350.


     Aug 16 - Loeva Klamm arrived home from Japan where she has been teaching in American schools for Children of American Military personnel.


     Aug 30 - Ernest Osman of Cedar Point is killed instantly on highway crash.


     Sam C. Vinson of Cedar Point is taken in death.


     Sep 6 - Mrs. J. E. Danford passes away at her home.


     George Roniger a well known Bazaar rancher passes away.


     Sep 13 - Wm. Selves Sr. has been elected as the President of the Chase Co. Historical Society.


     Sep 27 - Mr. & Mrs Raymond J. Barrett hail golden wedding anniversary.


     Oct 4 - Rex Bennett retires as local postmaster. Fred Riggs receives acting appointment.


     Oct 11 - E. C. Sherffius dies at his home.


     Oct 25 - Irving Myers is appointed as legislator when Fred Riggs resigned to become acting postmaster.

     Nov 1 - Wm. A. “Bill” Lawless a well known former cafe owner in Strong City and Cottonwood Falls has died.


     Nov 15 - Mr. & Mrs Geo. Yeager have a new baby boy, named George Wayne; Mr. & Mrs Ron Mayo, a boy, Timothy Shaw.


     Nov 22 - Mr. & Mrs Gene Barr, Burdick have a son, named Ben Micheal.


     Nov 29 - Mrs Roy E. Lee of Strong City is taken in death and Albert Bjorklund also of Strong City.


     Dec 6 - A parent-teacher organization will be started in Chase County.


     Funeral services for lifetime resident of Matfield Green, Fred Swift, 75 years old is held.
