     Sep 12 1962 - A farewell party for the Gerald Remy family is held at the Drew Narramore home.


     Sep 19 - Work on the new addition at the Cottonwood Falls Grade School is rapidly moving forward.


     S. R. “Sam” Stauffer, 84, retired farmer and stockman is taken in death.


     Mr. & Mrs J. E. Bailey of Matfield Green and Mr. & Mrs Harry Hudson hail Golden wedding anniversary.


     Sep 26 - A free diabetic clinic will be held at the Municipal building.


     Flood waters cover the lowlands in Chase Co.


     The Silver Creek watershed has been approved. Final action sets Federal cost share at $424,924.


     Edwin Jackson caught a 29 3/4 pound buffalo fish at the Cottonwood river bridge.


     Keith Brown buys the Cedar Point store and the business will be known as Brown’s Grocery & Cafe.


     Oct 3 - Hymer will have a part time railroad agent from now on.


     Lloyce 0. Brown, 60, died at Newton.


     Oct 10 - Mrs W. B. (Ida) Hilton passed her 94th birthday and is happy and content at her home in Cottonwood Falls.


     Mr. & Mrs John Bock of rural Elmdale, are honored as the Kansas American Royal farm family of 1962.


     Oct 17 - Tuberculin skin test are to be given in Chase Co.


     Mr. & Mrs Frank Buffington of Strong City have a new daughter, Lori Ann.


     Richard Bechelmayer is State award winner and delegate to 4-H Congress in Chicago. The award was for his woodworking project. Richard is a Senior at Chase County Community High School.


     Oct 24 - Accident fatal to Carl Ballweg, well known Cottonwood Falls attorney.


     Mr. & Mrs. Del Evans celebrate their Golden Anniversary with a family dinner and open house.


     Oct 31 - Fish are delivered for Chase County ponds, more than 21,000 in all.


     Nov 7 - Towle, Parks and Selves are the winners in three contests in Chase Co.


     100th Anniversary of establishment of Cedar Point post office is to be observed.


     Nov 28 - Charles W. Spence, 75, of Cottonwood Falls is taken in death.


     There will be a telephone installed in every unit at the Flint Hills Motel in Strong City.


     Dec 5 - Local hotel sold to Jay Lammon, sellers are Dr. Jeanne Carley and her mother.


     Dec 12 - John Burton is re-elected as head of the Fair Association.


     Dec 19 - Mrs Matthew L. Pennington, a resident of Strong City for 47 years is taken in death. Also Joe Ewert of Cottonwood Falls.


     Dec 26 - Mrs Frank Gaddie, of Bazaar is taken in death.


     Lt. J. G. Bruce N. Wood is on a leave from the Navy. He has been assigned to duty the last 16 months aboard the U.S.S. Mississinewa at Naples, Italy.
