Jan 2 1963 - Mr. & Mrs Eddie Danford of rural Strong City are the parents of a daughter, Janice Ann.
Jan 9 - Double Golden wedding receptions are held for the Joe Mauderly's and Willard Harshman's.
Jan 16 - First major winter blast strikes Chase County, freezing drizzle, snow and driving winds.
Jan 23 - Retired Santa Fe Agent S. W. Pyke, of Strong City succumbs.
Jan 30 - Annual tree planting program started at county extension office.
Feb 6 - L. 0. Talkington, of Elmdale, 62, is taken in death.
Feb 13 - Elmdale Bank is once again a target for robbers. This is the third time in the last five and one-half years and the fourth time in history that thieves have tryed to rob the Peoples Exchange Bank.
Feb 20 - Strong City Bank cashier Richard Whitney resigns, as he is leaving for a like position in the Herington Bank.
Feb 27 - A Chase County Amateur Art exhibit will be on display at the Roniger Museum.
Samuel R. Bruce, 90, of rural Cottonwood Falls passes away.

Mar 27 - Max Peterson of Bazaar will show a shorthorn steer in the Little American Royal at K-State.
Mr. & Mrs Alfred Schroer of Strong City hail Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Apr 3 - Slight interest was shown in the recent city elections.
Rites for Harry Starkey, a pioneer Chase Countain have been set.
Mary Lou Mauderly and Captain Wm. Martin are wed.
Apr 10 - Fred A. Riggs has been named as Cottonwood Falls postmaster.
Apr 17 - Best show ever in the Heart Fund drive.
Mr. & Mrs Ernest Sayre hail Golden wedding with open house.
Apr 24 - Emmett Magathan will known Clements farmer is taken in death.
May 1 - Mrs J. W. Coverdill, 89, of Cottonwood Falls, who was the wife of
former Chase County Probate Judge has passed away.
May 8 - Eight new air conditions are ready for use in the courthouse offices.
Cowboys find stock hard to ride at the bucking premier at the rodeo
arena in Strong City.
May 15 - Esther Buffington has taken over the operation of the business at the Silver Moon Cafe in Cottonwood Falls.
